Boyracers: Did they collect tokens for thier licence?!

Made a quick journey out about 20 minutes ago to a village about two miles away and back. It is basically one long straight road. I was coming down the hill at about 50 and there was a white van approaching. No threat. Next minute I know, about 70 yards away some arse in a Saxo VTR goes to overtake the van. He was so close behind the van that I didn't see him and he evidently didn't see me either. While doing my emergency stop I just thought (and believed) to myself "this is it, brown bread". He panicked and wobbled about deciding whether to go into the hedge, go for the overtake (into me) or behind the van again. After what seemed like an eternity he finally decided to pull back in behind the van. Why don't these idiots learn to use a bit of roadsense. In the last 2 days I've had 3 near misses, none through any fault of my own. I have hardly ever had any problems with cars before, now I'm starting to see why you hardened bikers are so against "cagers" now.

The problem most boy-racers have is that they don't realise how long they are exposed to oncoming traffic!

Bikes are exposed to traffic for a couple of seconds at the most (and even then we have the option to 'white line' if we REALLY have to!)

Boy racers pull out first and then assess their options, because they think that because their car is 'fast' compared to a lot of stuff on the roads, it will be fast enough to overtake when they feel like it.

I have a number of mates that are boy racers and they are amazed how slow their cars feel when they get off the back of my bike!

i've never had any near misses yet, but i hate boy-racers anyway, if anything like that happened to me i'd be on that fella's tail until he stops, he's gonna wish that he didn't

In my 4 years riding I've had 3 off's, and only one of them was my fault. I'd passed my CBT, been on the road a week when some tit in a Golf GTi decided to pull out in front of me when I was on a roundabout when he was 15ft away from me sending me flying over the bonnet. Then I got hit head on by some twat in an XR-2 on the wrong side of the road going through some lanes near me. Luckily I never injured myself in either, funny the one crash that was my fault and I break my arm and my shoulder and end up in hospital for two weeks

my mate who passed his bike test 20 odd years ago still rides right near the white lines on corners!!

One of my previous "friends" used to own a reasonably powerful Sierra cosworth, he used to think it was funny to overtake people on the motorway going sidewards. Thankfully he's now banned.

It still makes me laugh when they try to beat me off the lights/out accelerate me off a roundabout exit etc.. come on a BMW M3 against a hayabusa. Although these days I let them win, just smile and nod when they say that they creamed a busa.

I once had a very similar one to mrchips.

Came round a corner on my GPZ500s to find a forestry wagon (Long vehicle!) heading the other way with a boy racer who had just pulled out to overtake alongside him. I slammed on the brakes and had come to a complete halt in the road, the car was still heading directly towards me. I was getting ready to abandon ship into the deep ditch at the side of the road but luckily the wagon driver saw what was happening in his mirror (why has that bike stopped suddenly in the middle of a straight bit of road?) and threw out the anchor. All three rear axles were locked-up on the artic with smoke pishing everywhere, a gnats whisker from jacknifing, the car JUST sneaked in front of him.

Left both myself and the wagon driver sat facing each other on the road white as sheets. We were both so stunned at what had happened that we set off on our way with nothing said but to that driver.

ive had several near misses, theyre either 'ooh my Nova is well fast' retarded boy racers or pig ingnorant and incompetent women drivers who run red lights or lane change at random moments.

The most recent was a red light runner, a female in a (you guessed it) green vo**o who nearly knocked me off on a junction. She knew she'd f**ked up and tried her best to pull away and ignore me. Bad move, as volvos are rather slower than FJ1200s. I managed to kick the crud out of her passenger door and kick her mirror off. I had to pull over once the adrenaline had worn off and have a bit of a sit down.

All car drivers are idiots without exception and treat them as such.

My mate was going round the corner in his Ford Cougar- only to find a 2 mopeds-one in each lane having a race. He swerved to avoid them and hit a wall and wrote off his car. Neither of the 2 moped riders had insurance. He's slightly annoyed.
