'Who's that bollox?'
'Jaysis sent him'
'On a fuckin' Suzuki?'
Bet you're proper giddy bout getting it. I remember when I bought my CG - I was at uni when it was collected, so I had to wait for pictures that night.
2 months later though, I barely said hello to family before I bolted into the garden and started cleaning it.
Good times

Yeah goodluck pal
I'm going to get a GSXR 750 K4 on Saturday, 480 mile round trip, half of that as pillion on the back of a naked Bandit 600. Im fucking cold now sitting in my chair typing this, its going to be brutal.
My mate can use my Tucano big muffs on his Bandit, but i am then left with seeing how many petrol station gloves i can get on before it all rips to shit under my 15 pound summer gloves.
Ill get better gear soonish in the mean time
Suggestions appreciated for warm hands for Saturday ____________________ [Current Bikes - GSXR-750 K5 & C90-97 ] [Previous Bikes: Runner 125, YBR 125, GS500, Bandit 600, Hornet 600, ZX6R-99, C90-99, R1-99, XT600E-04, GSXR-750 K4, CRF250L '16]

Be very careful! My GSX-R was like riding on ice, even at midday when temperatures had warmed up and the vast majority of the ice was gone, had the rear wheel spinning well through second gear with almost no throttle when trying to pull away from traffic lights. !
It's treacherous out there! ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

Thanks for the tips.
Oh and vote of confidence as well from some of you
Cant wait to get it. I was doing lessons in -3 and icy conditions so at least I am not jumping in to something completely strange.
Most of the ride is A roads to my house. I have been taking them to work each day and don't seem too bad. Having someone coming with me in my car (just in case lol).
I got some undergloves, gloves, winter jacket, trousers, boots. Going to pop to asda this morning to pick up some thermals too.
Still the cold weather wont kill my spirit! I cant wait |

Good to hear Josh, a proper biker! None of this "fair weather" drivel, eh? !
What GSX-R is it? Is it a 600/750/1000?

And I thought I was crazy! Good luck mate.
Buy some of them freeze pouches where they warms up when you brake them. Stick them in his pockets with your hands - dont know how long they last tho.
I bought these:
https://www.ghostbikes.com/products/ghostbikes.com-brands-knox-all-products/8060-knox-cold-killers-core-2013-thermal-undergloves.html
Worked pretty well over 3 hour lessons. Will come tomorrow if you order them today (make sure you order one size smaller than your gloves if you do. Otherwise they may not fit) - better than nothing for 15 quid I guess - you may find a promo code somewhere if you google it too! |

So much win. So much.
I seem to actually be coming around to liking Pointy Bikes, just at the age when I should be thinking about a Ewan-and-Thingy-mobile.
Your bike is giving me naughty thoughts. I'm off to take them out on Mrs B. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Oh my god!!!!! I am smiling from ear to ear.
Love it |
You should try my GSX-R1000 if you want speed smiles. . !
How old are you Josh? I am curious as to how much you are paying to insure it. I can't see from that picture (well, stock downpipes I think) but does it have an aftermarket exhaust on it? The GSX-R600 I saw sounded terrible with a stock exhaust and my 1000 did too, so quiet and wheezy compared to having an aftermarket exhaust on it, if it doesn't have one, get one for it! !
Oh, last question, what did you pay for it? If you don't mind me asking.
Roger, they are fantastic motors. I am not sure how it does it but my 1000 is just as comfy as the Pan-European, sounds the bee's kness and is faster than the Starship Enterprise, even around corners, I would highly suggest getting one. I personally found the GSX-R600 too revvy, meant I had to work the gearbox more whereas on the 1000 I can put it in second gear and treat it as a moped with a clutch. !
Cheers! . ____________________ "Four wheels move the body, two wheels move the soul."

I dont think I am ready for a 1000 just yet lol.
I cant believe how comfortable and smooth it is to ride. Better than the XJ600 I took for test.
It doesnt have an after market exhaust but I still love the sound (at the moment lol). I also love the fact no matter where I stop I at leat have one van man or car owner ask me something about it. Not many black ones around me that I have seen. Plus all the bikers always give me a 'wanna swap' with a laugh when we are next to each other.
You are free to have a ride on mine Roger if we are ever on a meet together.
The insurance comes to £800 TPFT (no excess), I am 25 with 3 points, medical condition and less than 1 month license and bike experience. This is un-garaged, disc lock stated with commuting to 2 places of work. - not too bad for London.
The bike with 9k miles, new R&G crash bobbins and heated grips supplied and fitted, full service history, Has the S.A.I.D immobiliser thing, 1 previous owner, all receipts and paperwork, full tank of petrol, 1 year tax and new MOT, 12 months warranty - came to £3,300 (or there about's)
Not bad I don't think. |
