I went out today, saw a parked car up ahead that I'd have to go round, and l found myself looking where my mirror should be, and my thumb going for an indicator button ____________________ "There are some things nobody needs in this world, and a bright-red, hunch-back, warp-speed 900cc cafe racer is one of them - but I want one anyway, and on some days I actually believe I need one. I've done exactly the same thing with the indicators and mirrors thing. Also, I find the saddle a bit weird to sit on after getting used to a motorbike.
I bet Bendy gets his knee down on a push bike out of pure habbit. ____________________ What's ya name? What av' ya taken? Chase the lasers, safe as f*ck! |

I've changed as a pedestrian/cyclist since riding a bike/vehicle in general.. for instance I don't walk close to cars when crossing the road anymore.. you know.. when you nip across in front of a car etc... when doing it you think/know you can get across in time and bollocks to the car.. but since being on the road you realise how annoying/worrying this actually is.. so I take more care crossing roads and respect other users more when crossing...
Also if I ever ride a push bike ( ) then I'd be more aware and considerate.. I hate push bikers who ride on the road.. yeah it may be illegal to ride on the pavement but push bikes don't pay tax or insurance or anything and on the roads are 1) a danger and 2) they slow everyone down massively. often see queues of cars behind a bloody push bike becuase the cars can't quite get past safely ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

If I haven't ridden my pushbike for a while, it has been known for me to suddenly apply the rear brake when approaching a junction, having mistaken the left brake lever for a clutch. |

They are using the roads and thus slowing cars down who pay to use those roads... I've never seen a cyclist that isn't slowing traffic down... sorry but that's what I think..
Cyclists are a big danger IMO... mostly because a lot of them are little kids who jump off the pavement onto the road then when a car hits them and kills the kid it's the car drivers fault
I personally try to ride on the pavement where possible, but then... me.. on a push bike aving a laugh?? that requires exercise
Also a cyclist can do quite a bit of damage if they were to cycle into a pedestrian, and I've seen a few cyclists cause car accidents by veering out into the road or jumping off kerbs etc. ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

"They are using the roads and thus slowing cars down who pay to use those roads"
Since when did the roads become the sole property of drivers? Pedestrians use the road and slow down traffic...should you exterminate them too?
"Cyclists are a big danger IMO... mostly because a lot of them are little kids who jump off the pavement onto the road then when a car hits them and kills the kid it's the car drivers faul"
Kids are unpredictable and you should always be aware of them regardless of whether they are on a push bike or in fornt of a school. Should we ban kids as well from going near raods since they slow down drivers and don't pay tax?
"I personally try to ride on the pavement where possible"
Then you are actually a bigger danger to pedestrains and would get charged if you hurt anyone.
"Also a cyclist can do quite a bit of damage if they were to cycle into a pedestrian, and I've seen a few cyclists cause car accidents by veering out into the road or jumping off kerbs etc."
Fair point but google cyclist deaths and see how many there are in comparision to motor cyclist deaths and your popint will seem insignificant in comparision.
Besides without the cyclest there would have never been the motor bike so lighten up!

That's another annoying thing.. they ride along 3 abreast down country lanes.. you come round a corner below the speed limit (60 usually..) and find 3 dawdling lycra clad, wrap around sunglass wearing, bald middle aged blokes arguing over which energy drink is the best......
Slam on the breaks, slow down, beep horn and tell the bastids to ride in single line then bugger off till the next corner where it's a bunch of lycra clad 20 y/old women on bikes.... you slow down and follow because you "can't get past" ____________________ Current Toys: 06 Yamaha WR250F | Nissan 350Z GT | Tech 4 Homes |

because i've been riding for 6 days a week consistently now, with my push-bike being put into the shed, when i do get it out, im constantly checking my "mirrors" that aren't there and doing more lifesavers than ever. a good habit picked up..
its a pity my 700 metre wheelies from my bicycle can't be carried on to my gs! ____________________ Now own a Fireblade!! Speed Limits? Bah! |

Ive been cycling a couple of months. I loathe it. Its not getting me that much fitter, i dont die asmuch but it could be just cos its colder. And it keeps breaking. Im thinking of taking it back. There are triumph owners mocking its reliability!
Plus i also was all weird when i first got onto it, but nowit seems natural ish, and has improved my balance on the motorbike. I do find it funny when im on the pushbike and im cycling with a mate how few risks they deliberately take (such as in a doubleparked area squeezing through without slowing etc), but they never pause at junctions etc. And often dont lifesave.
I miss being able to stunt tho. Wheelies on pushbikes are pooh. And i looped it And rear end skids are a) too easy and b) mean you have to pedal harder to get back up to the vaguely fast speed you decided to skid from
In short

I've been using a pushbike on the roads for 10 years and i'm only 16. Mother used to teach cycling proficiency so i know what to do etc. I take some risks, I do jump off the pavement into the road if it is clear behind, do some pretty stupid stuff sometimes, but on the whole I would say I'm safer on the road than many car drivers and smotorbike riders. I don't have much experiance compare4d to, say a 40 yr old who has had a bike/car for 20yrs, (me stands on soapbox) but I would say I'm safer on the roads than many. Did CBT a while back (but not allowed to have a bike on the road ) so picked up a few good habits from that. Do lifesavers, not looked in non-exsistant mirrors yet tho. Havn't yet mixed up clutch and brake, but have used right pedal to slow down once or twice!
Not very interesting or helpfull, but just my tuppence worth.
