been looking around for some tyre studs for a while with no luck.
Finally i found some Very Happy

smallest size they do requires 5mm of tread on the tyre so if fitting to sports bike/road bike tyres they would have to be fairly new but may be of use to someone so just thought i'd share

looks like were in for a few weeks of ice/snow and if like me, you have to commute by bike on untreated roads these may be usefull

Cool idea!

Does it wreck the tred when taking them out tho?

wouldnt have thought it would do any damage aslong as it doesnt go through the carcass of the tyre, im not 100% on that though and take no responsibility for any damage or injury.

think they are more suited to knobbly offroad tyres but aslong as there is 5mm of tread (or 3mm showing, if you allow for 2mm of rubber on the actual base of the tyre) i cant see any reason why not.

wouldnt recommend trying them in and kind of race rubber though, as apparently its too soft and the studs may come loose according to the website.

Paddy may be onto an idea with the boot studs for tyres with less tread Laughing

Worked out how many you'd need? Spaced 4" apart, say 4 rows of them, two tyres, I make that 160 studs or £104.

if the tyres were for pure snow and ice then yes that sounds about right, but then in those conditions the studs would last a very very long time.

for a mix of snow/ice and road use you would have less studs and not so many on the centre line. maybe 3 rows with the centre row having 10 studs instead of 20.

The idea is for better stability not for seeing how much lean is possible Laughing
