I got a late Christmas present yesterday -- a new Rukka jacket and overtrousers.

My current jacket is a no-name from a charity shop and the overtrousers are J&S generics. Both leak like a sieve. On rainy days, I can't leave my desk to get a tea until my crotch dries...

So we replaced them with top-of-the-line, extreme weather, etc. This means it will be unbearably hot and dry this year, given my luck when buying high-ticket items.

I was looking at the Gortex Leather jaikit and troos. I think it'll rape me for about £1800. Smile

I will write a short review after six months or so. I didn't buy the absolute top of the Rukka range. I bought the middle-range gear and it was reduced, so the total was well under £1,000, but still high enough that the wife had to be involved, financial plans made, promises extracted, big gulps, etc.

Several of my instructors wore Rukka, one of which was a courier for years and said Rukka was the only gear he found to be waterproof without additional outer wear. Even he said the gear started leaking after four-five years and he started wearing the army-surplus goretex stuff over it.
