Just seen this picture by a local motorcycle training school taken at a trade expo somewhere.

Not too keen on the idea of a 50cc car, that can be driven on a provisional licence.

I also thought there were laws for these sort of things?
It only does 30mph too, slow but I suppose at least you would be dry in the rain and warm in the cold weather...

what are your views?

i think it is good if you are 16 and wanting a car ... but putting my "sensible head" on.. i think it is an accident waiting to happen! they are alot bigger (wider) than bikes and people should have to do their car license as it is a car ...regardless of engine size

also LOL at the space in the bonnet!

If i was 16, rich and lived in a heavily congested city with a wet climate, i'd get one for certain.
Living in the UK and commuting to work in a 70 limit the whole way, not a chance.

I was thinking the same about the space in the bonnet too.

I once made the mistake of saying to a friend "where's the engine then?" while looking under the bonnet of her 1.0 micra, got a slap for that, but this is just silly how much wasted space there is!

I'm suprised they haven't advertised the space under the bonnet as an "extra's" and said it's a second boot!

Wouldn't ever get one.

I like filtering too much. Sitting in a traffic jam, not for me. If it wasn't for filtering, my tea would be cold when I got home. Laughing

Although, I miss my bike, can't wait for the snow to go away. Roll on March. Cool

£10,000 to buy, £2,200 to insure, and at 17 they'll want something else. Can't see it being that big a hit.

hmmm, I could put my XR 250 in that and get to the green lanes, then I wouldn't have to keep riding with low pressure knobbly tyres on dual carriageways

with 50cc's of raw power + the weight of the car + driver + what looks like space for a passenger = 0-30 in 10 mins with a long straight down hill and the wind behind you.. my 50cc moped when de restricted did around 40mph and that weighed nothing
a car with a .05L engine LOL what will they think of next.. you might aswell walk Laughing

I know someone who has an older one of these, same make.
Its a Kabota diesel engine and belt driven CVT. Its completely hopeless, loud, slow, unreliable like you wouldn't believe and expensive to repair. I had a go and wanted to kill myself. But it reminded me.of.being 17 in my first car.

Don't knock Piaggio Apes, they were a big part of what got me into motorbikes.

I started by considering that I could have a 'car' of sorts, then learnt more and ended up going for something less shit, ie a 125. Without the Ape, I might not have started on that train of thought...

50cc in a car wouldn't move it unless it was like one of those Peele P50's.

400cc Diesel, you would half your 0-28mph time with an extra passenger.
