Resizing an image for printing

Hey all, I have an image which I want to print out at a certain size. The image need to be printed at 504mm X 394mm (I'm aware this is >A4)

Every time I scale the image in MSPaint, or in GIMP, to the correct dimensions, it prints out to the wrong size!

Does anyone know how to get this to print at the correct size?

You probably need to set the DPI to the same as your printer when you resize it in gimp.
There may also be printer options like sacling to page that need to be turned off.

I think this will work, it's taking forever to resize now so it's looking like it's big enough lol

make sure your print settings arn't set to 'fit to page' or to a certain percentage
