NSR125 vs CBR125

Hi all ive just turned 17 and i would like to know which is better performancewise mainly????

A de-restricted NSR is about 100-105 I guess, whereas the CBR is about 75 from what I've read on here

NSR125- 75mph restricted, de-restricted 110mph


CBR125- 75mph is not resistred beacuse it a 4-stroke which are slower than 2-strokes like the NSR

Hmmm, cbr125, a REALISTIC 70....(remember, a speedo OVERREADS)....no idea about the NSR, 70 restricted, 95 unrestricted?

Basically, if you've got to pick one, the only people thatll tell you to buy a cbr is the cbr owners.

Sure they sell well, but only under false pretences...125 sportsbike? Hell no....

The NSR will also hit 60 in half the time of a CBR125 (when derestricted)

Not to mention the NSR looks good and the CBR just doesn't.

I own a CBR125 and the NSR gives you better performance. Not all CBR owners are the same! CBR is a good commuter bike (very skinny and easy to ride), but is not a sportsbike like the NSR. I'd go for the NSR if all you are after is performance (*cough* and looks), although I personally think the CBR looks ok side on.

I've never had any problems with the performance of CBR125's when Racing NSRs, I always win .

Best thing about the cbr/nsr is that they have honda reliability, the nsr is faster, but i would give both ago before i would make a choice on forking out the cash for either.

P.S. Also a lot of mods for each bike for when u get bored

The CBR is a CG125 type bike with an expensive fairing and a much higher price tag, so if you want something which will be expensive to fix when dropped and shit slow get the CBR125.

You are better getting the NSR if you want cheaper buying price, faster, better looking

Though the CBR costs more it would probably be cheaper on insurance, but probably still more expensive than the NSR and insurance put together.

Personally I'd go for the NSR for value for money. If you want a 4 stroke there's plenty of better options.

...but you can get a brand spanking new CBR125 cheap ( comparativley ) and get all the advantages of buying new, or pay the same for a second hand NSR, that might look the part but has been ragged.

The Oil on the NSR has to be topped up depending on how much you use it. You're looking at getting at least 5/600 miles out of a bottle though .
