Evening all

I just need a bit of advice from all you tyre experts out there, well if truth be told it's Mcjam that needs the advice but he is at work and asked me to ask you all! Very Happy

So....for the ZX6-R, which is the best choice for a rear tyre...the Dunlop D207 or the D207RR. The front tyre he has is the RR one.

This is all thanks to a huge bolt and crappy sealant which has left pink goo all over the bike!!

Advice/opinions appreciated! Thumbs Up

I have always used 207RR's on my ZX7R and swear by them!

What year ZX6R is it?

Remember there are 208 and 208RR now too, which have the same grip levels as the 207/RR's but more longevity

Given that McJam has a RR on the front though, I would go for another RR on the rear (you can get a set for 140 quid(ish)

The RR is a way better tyre than the standard 207 so he's better off sticking with the decent stuff. I love my 207RR's. Gave me so much confidence when I 1st got them (onKev's advice) and continue to do me proud through all my roundabout bashing madness.

Meh.

You're too late.

I had to go ahead and get it done and I've gone for a bog stock 207 - mainly for the extra mileage so that it hopefully doesn't square off. I may swap it for a stickyer one come spring anyway and then I can always go back it next winter.

Ta anyway.

I've got 207's at the mo, in the dry they're fine as long as you warm them up before 'giving it some' BUT in the wet they scare the shit out of me. Offer poor grip in wet conditions so don't go riding the bike like you are on your old rr's Thumbs Up
