So I finally get my brother bike's a C spanner for that all important rear shock preload adjuster. BUT.....it fails with adjusters tabs breaking away!

Imagine that happening when riding! Shocked

Now need to get a replacement for this 5 month's old shock!

That is defiently something that you don't want to happen whilst riding!

You say the shock is only 5 months old - is it not under a warranty of some sort?

Might have a spare pair of genuine H100 shocks at home, should I have a look for you?

is that rust on the damper rod in the 2nd pic Shocked I'm guessing cheap chinese made items with poor materials

yes and it was coated oil!
