All the cameras on the viaduct are the digital SPECS cameras which read the front plate at either end of the viaduct to get your average speed - so in theory bikes should be as free to blast past them as they are to blast past Truvelos... not that I've ever been brave enough to test it out Smile

cheers for the reply

from trying to find out more info it appears that a reading is taken at the start of the 40mph limit and at the end of it

so you should receive 3 points and a fine and not multiple tickets

i still have another year of probation to go on my license

Yes that is correct - so when you have drivers getting wound up at you for sticking to the 40mph all the way through while they're flying along and only slowing down for the cameras you can have a chuckle to yourself knowing that they're almost certainly going to get a ticket Smile

Incidentally, if you are going North and you come off at J21a, the camera at the end points the other way (into the roadworks not onto the sliproad) so you can go over that bit as fast as you like in any vehicle.....

When the traffic is really busy it's sometimes worth zooming up that inside lane, coming off & getting back on again, you can miss out the bulk of the roadworks doing it that way.

so they will have a rear photo of my reg plate and also a front photograph identifying me as the rider of the bike?

someone on 125ccsportsbikes said that they were done for 54mph in a 40 zone over the viaduct heading from north to south

i have read that the cameras are front facing though

but if it proves to be the case they must also have cameras pointing in both directions!!!
