Has anyone got/used these?

I noticed there is a massive difference in price between the dot type and line type.

Is the line type much easier to use and does it justify the price difference?

Is it possible for anyone to post a picture of each one being used so I can see the difference?

Probable more gimick than gizmo.

I never seen any need for it as alignment is a thing done very rarely (if ever) and string costs buttons even that expensive string your Gran would have.

A bit like using a sterling silver cake-knife to plaster a wall.

I bought one of these, thinking that it might be of use and more accurately align the back wheel with suspect swingarm markings.

https://www.mandp.co.uk/productinfo/530913/Chains-and-Sprockets/Chain-Tools/Tech-7

But on every bike that I tried it on,the rod aligned perfectly. So I adjusted the back wheel so that it was obviously out,and this tool still said that it was okay.

As has been said, string or two long lengths of metal bar would do just a well.
