Exactly one month on, what was it and how did it go?

I know several people here went on diets.

I was 14 stone 5.8 pounds exactly a month ago
I am 13 stone 5.2 pounds now Thumbs Up Not bad!

That's a good loss. Well done mate. Are you starving yourself, or making a proper change to your approach to food?

I'm in the first stage of trying to cut down/stop smoking. I've made the move to e-cigs and am so far ok.

In a few weeks I'll lower the strength.

I work in an office, and smoking at my desk is quite a nice feeling. Reminds me of being young!

I'm, however, a bit worried that as it's so easy to smoke, I might increase my addiction..!

My goals are going okish.. still haven't got a job or bike license, however got £100 saved for it and I've cut down on junk food. Now eat more healthy had a coconut the other day and not been a take away once.

Also 1 month down 11 to go -- an 0 crashes/offs Mr. Green better than last year going make it 2 now.

I didn't purchase them it was my Aunt who comes around normally gets one for a Thursday. Normally only a chicken burger or chicken and chips.

Laughing You got be joking mate about the fiver, you could most probably get your tests paid for before the end of next month if you getting a bike. An I'm going fully though the school so £400 -600 (£75 Mod1 training, £100 Mod1, £75 Mod2 training, £150 Mod2) all inclusive of bike hire.

But yeah really hope some other newb takes up the reins this year, fed up of coming off on the road (would like to turn that to coming off on the grass).

Cheers. It's a proper change, swim twice a week, volunteer to walk the gf's dog 9 miles a week etc. Total ban on takeaways, chocolate, crisps and fizzy drinks, now have decent balanced meals and fruit/nuts to snack on.

I've been doing the trick of holding in your hands the equivalent of the weight you've lost, I find that very motivating Wink

It'll be harder to lose the next stone but I'm determined

Pretty good actually, I've paid £400 off of my credit card from one payslip so I'm well on the way to getting rid of it and all of my debts!

Well at the moment the same place I went for my CBT (Carl's in stoke) I'd go to Hinckley as I've heard good things about them and mike has recommended them. However it is 60 mile ride one way which is kind of a long trek for a lesson so talking 120 miles each day if it was daily. If I had any way of staying local to the place just to get the tests done I'd do it.

For Mod1 yeah the training school charging £75 for bike hire and £25 for test (if booked through them ) I know it costs £15.50 though so tempted to just book it myself an lend the bike of them saving of £9.50 right there.

Yeah its not a long ride though and in the warm weather stafford to cannock is beautiful, simple enough on the motorway or via A roads, just kinda punishing on the Cg.

Well it's the going rate around here, one school wanted £600 for 3 days training ... then me to pay extra on top for the tests and bike hire. Good luck on finding a way of getting the hire bike any cheaper without going through a school.

Also if that's a serious offer might take you up on that Wink

January is always a good time to shed a few pounds. Not as a "resolution" as such, just as a practicality. Everyone else is on the wagon and eating gruel so it's straightforward enough to join in with them. I'm a stone or so down since new year and pushing onwards. Hopefully I'll manage another month and another stone. Then it's Snickers for tea again.

I chose to diet myself and have gone from 14 stone 1 to 12 stone 10 Smile

but according to bmi im still overweight! grr ( my heights 5 '11 and im bmi 25....24.9 means normal weight for your height Razz)

ah well. anyone struggling with a diet resolution?

It's hard to get to the gym regularly on a rotating early/late/night shift pattern (shifts not necessarily on that order)
