Is this possible? Does it have a different name to tethering (Samsung facility)?

Cheers

You can do it on the 4s

Go to settings then Personal hotspot, you can then connect to the phone via Bluetooth,WiFi and USB to use the connection.

Some networks get funny about it. I'm on 3 who give you unlimited tethering. Thumbs Up

I think there is an app called connectify which might do what you want, see if that is available on iPhone.

Unlimited internet on 3 doesn't automatically equal free tethering. ( or id didn't unless they changed it ) You need to be on the "The One Plan" before you can use it.

*edit*Still need the One Plan

Ah har - I'd need to purchase an add-on. Probably won't bother as home allowance is OK anyway (40gb)

Thanks all Smile

Settings - General - Cellular - Setup Personal Hotspot.

That sends me off to Vodafone for some reason (seems thats normal, despite tethering being included since 2011 Vodafone must make you beg for it, glad I'm moving to EE in May).

Home allowance is 40GB? ISPs still putting limits on the internet?!

Holy shit, glad I have Virgin tbh...even though their customer support is bollocks.

BT fibre is pretty good now. I haven't experienced any throttling, well, maybe they throttle down to 10mb or something but it doesn't really matter it is so fast.

Gone are the days of 10gb download limits.

You need to make sure you are completely updated.

Wish we could bet BT Fibre here, still on shitty adsl, BT WiFi/Fon/openzone rocks though and one of the main reasons I stay.

People say that, I'm yet to have my connection throttled. I sit with it maxing out all day at 12MB down.. I then continue this after work Laughing

Ive just left EE for bad signal - there have been local antena faults since May.

Don't go to O2 or Three. My god, Three were the biggest bunch of cunts in the universe, a title I'd previously thought held by O2.

Good luck to you then Sad

Three's actual service is tolerable but if you need to contact customer support for anything, you're done for.

I'm on a low-rent monthly deal with Vodafone and get tethering included, never asked for it. The main issue is that iOS 6 buggered it up (google it and see how many people found the same).

O2 wouldn't stop calling me to upgrade, even when I told them to stop, even when I told them I wanted the overseas calling add-on because I was going to Canada the following week (so despite that being on my record, they called me at 3am while I was over there). After I called to complain and had a very sympathetic chap, when they called back to follow up it turned out sympathetic chap had taken absolutely no notes on my file as to my gripes so follow up lady knew FUCK ALL about why I was upset. I told her to put that as her reason: that they weren't actually paying attention to what I was telling them, ever.

Three, in 2012, tried to get a debt collection agency onto me for an 'unpaid bill' from 2003. A bill which THEY had told me to get a bank indemnity on back in 2003 when my 'cancel within 14 days' thing didn't work out and they'd continued charging me. Try explaining that to some cunt from a call centre in Pakistan who doesn't speak English.

AGH - How stressfull!

I can see why you were angry. I would have thought all the companies are much of a muchness and it is probably luck as to who you deal with. I found Orange great in general, but the occasional rep knew nothing at all and failed to provide very basic info that would have releived me of stress by giving me understanding.

HOpe they dont balls up my contract cease... stngly gits didnt offer me a free booster box or anything to aid my situ.. Think they saw me as a low paying (£21 per month) customer that wont be missed.

Fuck contracts.

Giff Gaff all the way. No hassle, they have never called me. Prices are perfectly good enough. No contracts etc.

If you can't afford a £500 phone, don't get one. That was my lesson at 18. Whilst I managed to pay it each month on a reasonably priced contract, when I didn't have a job, £30 a month was a lot.

Agree ref money

It tends to be more expensive to go a contract than it is buying the phone.
What n/w do giff gaff do. I am on my weeks trial so can terminate if I decide.

I already want the free signal booster they said they would give as the signal at jhome is not as good as they suggested it shoud be.
