I came off.

Took a corner a little too fast, not really sure what happened. I was going round the corner, too quickly, but not too badly. I think I must have panicked and used the front brake, bike sat upright, and I went through some trees and into a ditch.

Sounds minor I know, and on the scale of things I hear about on here it is. But it really shook me up. It seems like such a big thing, but again, on the scale of things the bike is ok...I even rode it home.

I did the usual damage: broken indicator, bent footpeg.

Slightly worse, I broke a stearing lock and dented the tank with the top of the forks.

I'm hardly injured other than the bike landed on my right knee, so it's fairly swolen today.

Any idea what I can do about the steering lock on an old MZ? All the other stuff is easily fixable.

I feel so stupid, It's a classic case of young inexperienced rider ending up in a ditch.

I'll laugh about it in a few days.

I'm glad you're OK. Don't worry about feeling stupid, we've all been there. Thumbs Up

Stinkwheel may have a solution to your steering lock question, 'cos he's a big MZ fan.

it's now fixed.

luckily I'd just replaced the rear indicators, so we used a rear cover on the broken front indicator.

Then we smacked the footpeg with a hammer.

The steering lock is just sheered off slightly, it's an MOT failure, so in a few months time it's a job for a guy with a welding torch.

There is DEFINATELY something to be said for being able to put your bike in a ditch and fix it for nothing.

RATBIKES FOREVER.

The only reason I hadn't replaced the front indicators yet is because the Germans who made it, changed the assembly, so it's harder to do it.

Saved me some money!!

Glad you're ok yams, ditches aren't fun to be in, poor WR aswell.

Mr. Green There isn't even a mark on the WR Wink

Me and zxr400er were out down a country lane er.. practicing wheelies.. riding up and down etc, to turn around I was sliding around 180 degrees on the rear brake, looks cool Wink and is easier that doing a 5 point turn Laughing well one time I done it a bit faster than usual, got most of the way around when my rear wheel gripped... Very Happy

The bike highsided over the other side and I fell off into a muddy ditch bit Mr. Green

Was so very funny Very Happy

It was about 4 o' clock on saturday. Round some backroads round galleywood, just took a corner too fast and ended up in the ditch.

rookie error.
