Where to buy Fairing kits from,, I have a CBR 600F (FY) that i would like to change the fairing kit on, I can only find European retailers and none for UK retailers offering 10 parts.. (6 was the closest) so does anyone know where i can get a complete kit from inside the UK thats not extortionate prices? AVG European prices £350

Thanks

£350 doesn't sound that bad for a full fairing set. How much did you expect them to be?
May be able to get cheaper Chinese ones, but they'll still be ~£300 I'd have thought.

this was European. infact Honk Kong, and a 10 Piece kit/fitting which may also have the hidden extra of import fees, so a little reluctant to order, the 1 UK stockist i found was £475, for 6 pieces.. and this was at Motocc in portsmouth.

Could the import fee at customs be £125? to release it.. I dunno Hence asking the question on here.

£300 is a bargain for a complete fairing set. If you're buying from within the EU there are no import fees of course.

Your original posts said that you can only find European retailers.

There would be no import fees from anywhere within the EEC.

Yes there would most likely be some import fees if you're buying from China.

Kewl, If i can get away with out a import fee and UK duty tax's then it certainly is a bargain for a 10 piece fairing..

However if i end up having to pay the import fees then i may aswell just buy it from the company down in Portsmouth, but for only a 6 piece fairing kit, and £125 dearer.

sigh.. not really sure what to do.

Are you under the impression that China is in the EU?

Duty and tax for a £348 set from Hong Kong will amount to around £13 duty and £72 in VAT, making your total ~£430 mark.

Anything under £8 is exempt iirc, I often get packages from HK with a false value on the shipping, some companies do that :/

In a nutshell, nowhere at the prices you want to pay Very Happy I can't see the importation duty (assuming you get stung) being a third of the items value, but you never know.

Do factory-kiss.co.uk do kits for your bike? I believe they are UK based.

:edit:

Appears they do. Seem to be out of stock though, maybe you could fire them off an email and they could source you some?

Usually it's not much of a concern for me tbh, but when you need to claim on insurance for it, you get screwed.

Being a gift can still incur charges, Clicky

It comes down to what value the seller places on the shipping.

Also, note the royal mail charge a clearance fee for such too, used to be £8, I'd wager it's not far off now.

The link I put there was for a 2000, so they have sold them at some point, hopefully if you ask them you could work something out.

FYI, Motocc imports the fairings from HK, you may need to pay duty charges.

from their T&C page:

Code:

Buyers please note - your products maybe subject to Duty as to reduce costs we will send your items direct from our overseas distributor. However, this isn't always the case for UK buyers. MotoCC doesn't accept responsibility for this cost.

I just bought a fairing kit from ting tong for my fzr as the fairings are ruined anyway none of them fit and I have a 2inch gap all the way round my seat Very Happy waste of £300+

Put the originals back on, but I think you can be lucky and get some good fits, I tend to think its 50/50 on the luck of how it turns out.
