Asus VS228H the worst thing on the market, I've just gave it back.
Every movement on the screen results in black fish net and you can also see it even on static screen if you move your eye Thumbs Down

Got BenQ GW2250 instead, it's alright so far, no flaws like on that disappointment from Asus, it's the same money and a bit better and faster screen Thumbs Up

Have you considered the fact that you may have just got a dodgy one?

ASUS tend to create rather nice hardware.

Well I thought so, but then I found quite alot other customers describing the same thing. But, on the other hand, 99% of reviews were like 5/5 stars and so on, don't know if people have that bad vision or they have that low demands. Thinking

My previous monitor was a Asus VW193S, I think, I had it about 6-7 years, great panel, decent performance. It was 1440x900, VGA only, 5ms.

So, I went for another Asus, but I was not satisfied, at all. That VS228H had sharp screen, nice colours, but that fish net all over it made me give it back.

I like the splendid on Asus monitors, the BenQ also has some presets, but they're not that dramatically different, the biggest difference is between Eco and any other mode, so I've set it all up by my self. The Asus was more ''plug 'n' play'' Thumbs Up

144hz is definitely noticeable.

Windows runs smooth as hell and running games like BF3 it looks amazing.

There is a significant amount of back light bleeding when watching a movie in widescreen and the black bands across the top/bottom.

However, I didn't buy it to watch movies on, I have 3 monitors hooked up to this and a 3D projector for watching movies.

I bought it for gaming mainly. It's very nice using as a primary display for designing on as well but I think a 2560 res OLED would be nicer for design work.

How's the resolution? I think that 27'' should be quite big to have it on the desk and look at it from a chair + my PC wouldn't be happy with it, 1920x1080 is quite enough for my old machine (Intel Q6600, ATi HD6790, 8gb DDR2) Smile

Resolution is fine. I could have got for a BenQ or something else at a much higher resolution but I would've need to sacrifice Hz and 3D. They don't make higher res than 1920 over 60hz or 3D yet.

I did want 3D (120hz) and I especially wanted the 144hz for gaming. This isn't my every day single monitor, I have a Samsung 24" syncmaster and another smaller 18" for running apps on. If I was choosing 1 monitor to use every day, I wouldn't have chosen this Laughing
