today i went out for a ride seens it was a very sunny day, tad cold but anyhow......i decide to to brake through the rev's to have a little bit of fun if only for a few seconds, anyway.........

I think it must have been abit to cold cause my bike cut out at the traffic lights opposite the palace pier (Brighton) and all i can say is i was so focking embarrassed everyone was looking at me, i just couldnt get the bike to start, i was there for abit ten minutes. Good job i had a helmet on because my face was as red as a traffic light, i tired to look as if i knew what the probulme was....but i dont think the millions of people that were looking at me brought it. Sad

*sigh*

Could be worse. You could have tried to ride away with the disc lock on, at peak time, in the town center with loads of people around.

Then drop the bike (bike was turning as I pulled away). Look like a fool, pick up the bike, remember the lock was on, turn off bike, undo disc lock, ride off (fast). Embarassed

Oh and my bike has cut out, and wouldn't start loads of times (bloody fuel pump went). There was the Dual carriage way. Some crappie town near London. ACE CAFE, with about 50 million bikers around. I spent 10 mins turning the bloody thing over before it catched. And about 2 billion other places Mad

Grrr ,you think you had it bad. Evil or Very Mad

When the bike stalls on me I quietly pull down the internal visor so I can 'hide' and try to look like I know what I'm doing. Embarassed Laughing

My poor old cg had this problem, when it was raining it was a favourite trick to stop dead for no reason, well it was for a reason, water was getting into the plugs and without the motor reving high enough it would just die Sad

Just pull over and try to start er up again, being happy that you dont have a kickstart Razz (try bumpstarting for the looking like you know what your doing effect)

At my bike lesson yesterday I was using a school bike but rode my own bike up. At the end of the lessons we wash the bikes. I washed my bike and somehow got water into the plug and spent a good 15 minutes starting it. Felt beetroot with other people helping me bumpstart it and eventually someone else got it going for me. Embarassed

If only I remembered about the spare plug in my pocket.

can't be as bad as pulling into school in the morning, going through a very deep puddle (drenching the deputy headmaster Razz Razz Razz Smile Smile Laughing Laughing Laughing ), then as you leave after school he stands on the side of the school drive and squirts you with a water pistol.... and losing concentration and spinning the bike sideways down the school drive infront of all your mates and about 1500 other students;)

Why does it matter if you have your helmet on, it's mostly going to be random people who you don't have, have never met before and won't meet in the future and if you did I doubt they'd remember and mock for your bike not working. Chances are the shopper who saw you really didn't care and weren't just stood there looking at you, can't see many of them will have thought anything other than "that bikes just broke down", it's really wasn't as big deal as you're thinking it was.

i think it would be rather funny though if this situation happened...

[Male Biker]: drives motorbike to red light ...goes to pull away... stalls... bike won't start.

[Hot Female] *Thinks* what a twat, his bike don't even work right.

Then the [Male Biker] goes out clubbing another night 'on the pull'. then sees this [Hot Female]

[Male Biker] *says usual bike chatup line* hey fancy a ride on my duke 996?

[Hot Female]: oh yea, your that twat that has the naff bike that don't work! *runs off screaming*

i personally find that a situation that could happen Shocked
