Dragon 2013 friday night accomodation

I have only just received my ticket this morning, from a friend who can’t make it.
Bike (Honda C90) is packed and ready to go. Plan was to stop halfway at my son’s in Hinckley and then come on up on Friday in the daylight.
Then I noticed that the campsite and control don’t seem to be open on Friday night, is that correct?
If this is so can anyone help me with location somewhere else to stay that evening, either camping or B/B.

I believe they have a camping field as well although it's not mentioned on there. Might be worth giving them a call.

PS not sure if the site is open on the Friday as I've never done it. PM Stinkwheel, he is your Dragon expert in these parts

They don't open the site on the Friday. You go to control on the Saturday morning then they tell you where the site is.

There are loads of campsites in the vicinity of Betws-y-Coed and that's usually within shooting distance of the control caravan. Lots of people congregate in the pubs and bars of Betws on the Friday night.

The B&Bs and hostels will be totally booked out by now.

There are usually loads of C90s turn up anyway so it'd be worth having a look round the field if you want to camp next to them when you arrive.
