Worst bike related injury of the last 12 months was sustained late on Saturday night when I stubbed my bare left little toe on the corner of my socket set box. It could have used a couple of stitches. I lashed it back together with sticky tape. I woke up thinking "why does my toe hurt?" followed by "who bent my tool box?".

Our creator gave us lots of fingers so that we can afford to lose a few without noticing.

Oh my sweet Jesus, I've just nearly taken a whitey!

3 weeks ago I was moving the blade in the garage so I could lay some carpet Cool as I pushed it forward the stand gently brushed over the edge of the carpet and moved a tiny bit. Quick glance at stand, "yep that's down" let's go of bike then she started rolling forward Shocked

"Oh no you don't ya fucker" I thought and grabbed the bars, by now she was 50 ish degrees over. Heard a loud crack and thought "there goes the fairing, YOU TWAT" and with a well pissed off heave, got the bike upright again. Then I felt my left thumb aching a bit, followed by a full on whitey (didn't spew though Cool )

Turns out I broke my thumb. 3 weeks in plaster, no riding OR driving Shocked Shocked And the Blade? Not a scratch Very Happy

But Fisty sir, you're hardcore Thumbs Up

Sorry to dissapoint but that isnt me, its a mate of mine.

I did however break my thumb by trapping it between a wheel and fork when pushing a bike onto a pickup.
Also spent a cold 2 hours trapped under a bike after I slipped on ice. Not fun.

How does a bloke built like you become trapped under a bike for two hours? Confused

On ice might be a clue. If the road was glassy you might not be able to get enough purchase to get the bike off of you.

Or alternatively, Walloper's answer. Laughing

On my back with 240kg of bike across my thighs, not long out of casts on both arms so didnt have the strength to push it off me.

Yes! It is a 30 year old King Dick set that has been well battered and there are cracks in the lid so the 0.5mm mild steel bent easily. This is one of the perils of building a bike in your living room.

First & last time i ever clean a chain with a rag.

I use one of these on mine:
https://www.americasindustrialsupply.com/americasindust/images/items/BBRU3004.JPG

Stick the bike in first gear and keep dipping the brush in the degreaser. Hold the brush on to the chain and sprockets and let the bike clean it self Very Happy Then stop the engine, leave it a few minutes, clean it off with a rag with the engine off. Start the engine again and apply oil with a toothbrush Very Happy

Please tell me what you guys are doing whilst cleaning your chains to such injuries.

Are you guys holding a rag to your chain whilst someone is giving the engine a tiny bit of revs which would enable the wheel to move?
