Anyone had a throat mic headset used with their phone?

Ideally would like to get one by Thursday, but don't have a massive amount of cash to spend.

Needs to work while on a bike, of course.

Be nice if it also worked with PMR radios (push to talk button) etc, but not essential.

Few options about, but nothing particularly interesting.
Anyone used such a setup?

Used them with proper radios and they are good but as far as I know there is next to nothing of decent quality for mobile phones

Any reason you're avoiding the standard Scala type option?

Granted I've had a few issues with mine by generally they are good. When mine works it is perfectly clear up to around 90 and usable to about 110.

Over that I doubt you want to be on the phone anyway Laughing

I've not had so good experiences with them; usually a lot of wind noise at speed.
Maybe technology's moved on since then.

Oh and I tend to wear some kind of face mask, which makes it a bit more hassle.

Its a microphone that touches your throat instead of sits in front of your mouth. It's less susceptible to wind noise on the move.

Remember kids, bikes aren't like lego. You can't easily take a part from one bike and then fit it to another.

Does it not sound muffled or weird?

Seems like a good idea, hadn't heard of them except for

Had one for my radios, they worked great, but were uncomfortable, due to my fat neck Rolling Eyes

These are sold as for the i phone but should work with any phone that has the same size plug throat mic on ebay

They give perfect voice reproduction, rally drivers use them too.

Noise can be carried by movement of air but can be transmitted through a solid/liquid.
They still work well even if you have a soft head too. Smile

Hey hey.. I know.. People often say I look like B Willis....

Laughing

I use normal Scala mic no issues.
