I am looking to get 1 or 2 sets of leathers for the coming year, I currently have 2 sets of textiles. I have a couple of questions. How do or should leathers fit as opposed to textiles? Leathers that i have seen seem to be a tight fit, which isnt a problem to me except I usually commute on the bike so would need to carry my work clothes as opposed to wearing them under the textiles. Is this right?

Do I buy the same size as my textiles or is it different? I am 6ft 2 40-42 inch chest 34 inch waist.

I thought I would pick brains on here as I detest window shopping and window shopping for clothes is my no 1 nightmare.

Thanks for your help in advance.

Stephen

Leathers should be a snug fit not too tight as you lose comfort and agility then.

The theory is snug enough to retain any armour in the correct position if you jump off the bike.

The other issue is the material used.
Quality of the hide and thickness. Too thin and they are no use.
Leather works by offering protection in several ways one of which is when it is reduced to liquid under friction. That slips so prevents you hi siding when hurtling down the road on your arse.

Also the method of construction counts too.
You should look for MINIMUM double stitched.
If possible look for protected stitching where the seam is rolled over the stitching and stitched again to cove the main stitching.
If only stitched once it can fail when rubbed on the road or stretched. The covered stitching will last longer in a slide (on your arse).

It is not an in-expensive adventure leathering up.
