The dealer told me "90 downhill restricted"
I have had 95 indicated on the flat when I ran out of road and had to slow down, from what I hear an indicated 110 will be about it.
Derestricted you will get 160 indicated I think although I am not sure, maybe 150. ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>

I hope you realise how quick this bike will be un-restricted...... imagine the distance you can fire a stone through a decent catapult, well thats about as far as you need to get best part of 100 mph. I sold my first real bike (exup 1000) to get my gixxer 600k3 and to be honest I havent looked back, bloody blinding bikes, albeit you have to scream the tits off them to find the real power but I guess thats half the fun
I want your seat pod!!! they look so much sexier on the k4.
As for running it in I don't blame you for ignoring the mechanic. I always think first 100 miles take it very easy and don't rev over half revs then build up the revs gradually to meet the first service, after that build up to full revs over the next few rides, after that FLAT OUT FOR THE LADS everywhere!!!
I would recommend getting a TRE mod as it smooths the power delivery and makes the bike more responsive lower down in the rev range, you'll notice if you change gear with low revs the sync doesn't not feel right and pulling away quickly when at low revs feels a bit flat. They cost about £30-£50 and Ivans TRE mod is supposed to be the best (mine cost £10 of ebay and works fine ) You can fit it yourself in about five mins and needs no setup to intergrate with the bike. |

Frosty, it was my mum who broke her car by putting petrol in it when it is a diesel, and by the way Frosty, race irl?
And one quick question to those of you with GSXR600s, what is the tank range from full to "warning light" and from "warning light" to empty. ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>

Nice bike but I certainly wouldnt want one restricted, It'll pull for the first 4,000-5,000rpm then flat as a pancake. My 33BHP 400 used to do 100 everywhere and 110 if I had enough road but the difference going to full power will simply blow you away, Best to leave it until after winter too ____________________ My bikes are at https://www.bikepics.com/members/dynamight/ |

The restriction is in the Air Intake and on the Throttle its self, it revs fine all the way to the "run in max" of 7500 and pulls too, I have to keep an eye on the RPM because I get carried away with the pulling as it blasts past 7500, I can't pull the throttle back more so I am guessing it will be slow up the revs after 7500 or so, hence that part will be de-restricted first which will unleash more power but not "full power" or so the mechanic has told me.
Either way it rides damn nice and because of me running it in I run out of revs in top gear and can't pas 85 yet, but it wants to, I can feel it
But yeah I don't want it full power in these conditions, that would be a bit scary. ____________________ 04 Suzuki GSX-R 600 K4 - Sex on wheels :>

Is that for real? Not that I'm likely to have to worry about running in a brand new bike, but it's interesting. ____________________ "Work is the curse of the drinking class." |

I have seen your bike, I am worried it will;
A) Melt after any excessive usage
B) Have a small raised metal "matchbox" logo on the underside
C) Shake its self apart at high speed
It is tiny, and you aren't, and as a result of that you probably can't ride it to its limit, by a long way.
I would say "bring it" but I don't think it could hack the journey here.
