looks like I could have my first speeding ticket Neutral hope they didn't get my plate,

Was coming down a dual carriageway at roughly 90 indicated as was late for work, didn't clock the other side of the carriageway facing the otherway was a popo car stationary

What do you reckon the chances are they clocked me? Or got my plate?

I'm normally such a good boy Rolling Eyes

You might be lucky as they tend to speed check oncoming traffic on their side, unless your bike sounds like the bowels of god, they probably didn't even notice you.

Just a police car sitting there? Worry not.

Police cars pull over speeding vehicles. Not a problem if they're on the other side of the road. If it wasn't a camera van, I wouldn't worry.

bike isn't particularly loud, stock 03 hornet 600.

Hope to fook i've got off with it. I wouldn't actually normally speed but was late for work and was on a straight with no cars in front of me at all.

Other direction of the road was somewhat busier so I hope they were just watching that side or a car obscurd their view of my plates if they did notice.

I suspect the angle would cause too much uncertainty on the reading. It would certainly be my defence if I got a ticket in such circumstances.

If it wasn't a van and you weren't pulled at the time I believe you are safe.

I can't remember the name of it, but the only way to get a true reading of your speed is to stand directly in front. If you stand to the side, it will read less than what you are doing.

It always makes me laugh when people bring that defence up as the answer is always 'Due to the xxxx (cosine rings a bell) effect, to get a true reading, I would need to be standing in front of you, as I was at an angle, it reads less, so in fact you were traveling faster than the device showed.'

Love the sheepish look xD.

yeah bit of an obs fail but only clocked it after the traffic had passed and it wasn't on my direction of the dual carriageway, still pretty fail on my part, i'm confident i'd have spotted it on my side much quicker though. It's the only time in a year and a half of riding I've actually considered I might have been done for speeding.

I must say the bikes pretty fun at high speed Very Happy ...must resist temptation!
