Who's been?

Who can share experiences - good or bad?

Where to camp / where not to camp, etc.

Considering going next year and having never been before, thought I'd find out as much as I can about it.

So if you've been, please share your experiences / stories.

Cheers

I was considering going next year actually.

Never been though, and I'd like to go a few weeks before the racing starts too to have a ride ride the circuit as most of the island is still has no speed limits Twisted Evil.

It's not a cheap outing by any means, that's why we're still considering it rather than we're definitely going. The ferry alone is about £180!!! Shocked Shocked

If we go we will be going from Friday to the following Sunday I think in order to catch all the races and watch the loonies on Mad Sunday!!! Laughing

I've been on quite a few websites about it recently and it's amazing, but accommodation is already hard to find, even this far in advance!!!

Shouldn't be too bad if we do decide to go, 'cause we're just camping, but if you want a bed and a roof and I think you'd better move fast!!! Wink

I picked up a load of leaflets from the IoM tourist board at the NEC while I was there. Try these sites:

General Info:
https://www.visitisleofman.com/
https://www.iomtt.com/

Ferries:
https://www.steam-packet.com/

Airport Info:
https://www.iom-airport.com/
(I've got a list of airlines if you're cheating and flying - let me know where you'd be going from)

Nah, if we're going we'll definitely be riding down!

We should have another bike between us by then, so we'll either travel down on the one bike or since my bike's de-restricted now, maybe we'll take that too, who knows.

But thanks for that info Sivler, a few of those sites were the ones I was on.

The strange thing is that the ferries are only taking deposits to secure your place at the moment and they don't know exactly how much the fare will be!!! Strange one, but last year they said it was about £180!

Which is probably the same price as a car, even though a bike takes a fraction of the space! Rolling Eyes

When I was looking a couple years back, during TT week the ferry company was charging less to take a van across than a bike Confused

Havn't been to the Isle of Man of yet but am usually at the Northwest 200 and Ulster Grand Prix (Dundrod) every year.

Is there any form of road racing in England or is that only a NI/RIO/IOM thing?

Pretty much as on the mainland it requires an act of parliament.

All the best
