Threadworms, very common, little buggers come out to play and lay their eggs at night and cause havoc. If you scratch you get the eggs on your fingers, then eventually back in your mouth and gut and off they go again.

You can get a tablet over the counter at the chemist that will shift them, it's normally a 2-dose thing a few days apart.

I woke up in the night once with an incredibly itchy arse. I mean it felt like a colony of ants were crawling around in there. Fell back asleep then the next day i was fine. To this day i dont know what it was. Maybe a spider or something.

Could also be that you have pushed a poo out a bit hard and given yourself some piles.

Most likely though, you may have gone a day or two without a shower. If you have had a couple of stealth sharts in that time, it can be itchy.
