Hi guys, i turn to the expert help of this forum..

Here goes,

New to biking so this WILL be vague,
Basically i took off my fairings to replace my front indicators, after loosing balance while pushing the dam thing and the bike tipping the wrong way., (twice i done this bas**** now Brick Wall DOH!!!)

anyway, after coming to put the fairings back on i found a small piped Elbow, around 5 millimiter diameter, and about 1.5" long ISH from end to elbow back to end (L shaped) and it has a sponge like filter in one end of it, and i cant for the life of me see where the hell this has fallen from... any ideas.

My bike is starting to run a little lumpy now (a good few miles later i might add) where previously it was smooth.. Now its almost like it needs a little choke, All Suggestions would be greatly appreciuated and many thanks.
Neutral
Bike is a
CBR 600F (FY) year 2000 I can if necersary provide a picture of the pipe section

I'd be looking at the rocker cover first, see if it's missing it's breather.

Hi

Difficult one without knowing the bike in detail.

However I would suggest that the most likely place for a short pipe like that would be somewhere on the ram air system; possibly linking the intake to the carb float bowls. However it could easily be a vent for something, or even just a guide for some wires.

Having a quick look at a parts list (US one so quite possibly different) here the nearest I can see to it is the parts labelled 7 and 9.

EDIT - now I have seen the pics. Don't think the bits above are the right ones. However looking here my guess would be that pipe is one coming from the airbox. Possibly the bits labelled F17-1 and F17-2, but can't find those actual parts.

All the best

Keith

You've posted in the wrong place, should have gone to workshop. Wink

Part number for the headlight vent pipe is 33113-MAT-611. Type it in google and click on images.

The only other right angle pipes that I can think of are for the air box and the air injection control but they are not what I would consider small.

Actually nothing of any great value! It lets air in an water out.Your bike is safe without it fitted.
