Situation.
Riding to Plymouth to get on ferry. To save the price of fuel and tyres especially for my bike... 300 miles. Do not want to ride.
Not sure as I need to go with the bikes.. as does another person.

I guarantee you'll spend a lot less on fuel if you ride, as opposed to using a van or a car and trailer and, if you have to rent the vehicle, that's even more money. ____________________ Things get better with age; I'm close to being magnificent........

IF, they are not sports bikes, then I am sure I will get two in my van.
It returns good mileage, would do Plymouth and back on a single tank I should think.
Offer is there providing they will fit. If one is of a small size (Pit bike or small MX), then I will get a single sports bike in the van, and the small bike on the rear rack.
Of course, it needs to cost me zero to do this favour for you. |

Ah yea, that isn't happening.
I would personally just ride them there.
I can offer tyre changing facilities if you wanted to fit a cheapy, or hard compound rear on one / both of the bikes before starting your trip. |

Problem is it is for Spain.
I've got my Maxxis, they have 6-7mm all over and will last the trip, just 300 straight miles of motorway loaded up with luggage is worrying me.. also the way its geared 70mph is just on the point where it fires its 2nd set of injectors. It isn't economical and fuel for me will be £50, then add say £35 for the Bandit 6.
£85 on fuel so far, then a nice square tyre. I've squared a Dunlop Qualifier off and got it to canvas on a GSXR750 in under 1700 miles.. I intend to do more than that over the holiday, hence the worry |

Stop being a fanny and ride it Paddy!
If you're worried about 300 miles before you even get to Spain, you're not really allowing much freedom for yourself when you do get to Spain are you?
So, either get some new tyres on now and stick these aside for when you get back OR be a baws like me, wear our your rubber on the continent, sling your bike round a roundabout on the last day and get it all recovered back to the UK |

Right. I'll make it clearer.
I am NOT buying tyres. The ones on there are more than capable of doing Spain.
Tyres are pricey and I'd rather use that money on petrol abroad, otherwise I'm only going to achieve 500 miles abroad.
My budget is my budget.. I could ride down there but if I did, tyres would be at 50psi to try and keep them from going stupidly square.
How shit is it to go to a place with nice roads and shit tyres?
I also do not want to take any part of my bike apart, especially removing the wheels.. it is the most complete and perfect bike I've ever owned and my record of removing stuff and putting it back together is wank
But no... I would use different tyres, but its more expense. A van is more comfortable, less boring and can do that distance on £40 if I drive like I do on the way to work. Yeah, costs £35 to rent one but at least I can chat shit to the other guy coming down, stop off for Mcdonalds and not have to watch my bike constantly... just easier.
yeah I know bawwwww thread but I have never been abroad, the roads look awesome and I have a sexy bike.. I want it to be a time for me to stretch my bikes legs properly.. |

Paddy, stop being a fucking girl.
It's 250 miles if you go on the A303 and you're going on a bike hoilday, to, err, ride your bike?
As I've said on here, I've done 850 miles in a day on my hornet (90% motorways), on diablos, after doing 2k in 2 weeks around france. They still were perfectly fine. 250 miles is nothing.
Two tanks of fuel, so, £35-40 quid?
Really struggling to understand the issue here. ____________________ You ain't a has been if you never was |

Lash the bikes together at a slight angle, making an impromptu quad/sidecar outfit. Swap sides every 50 miles.
Protip: use human hair.
Take the A303, foggit. ____________________ Biking is 1/20th as dangerous as horse riding.

Both get RAC cover (gold membership).
Make a problem that can't be fixed at the side of the road... Rear spindle nut falling off would probably do it as it's a wanky thread, and they won't have one...
Free lift down to Plymouth as gold membership IIRC takes you to where you need to go, but not back again. ____________________ Blue_SV650S wrote: it was a sh1te wheelie, but it proves that he can get it up in 3rd and can do angles.
