What is the procedure for getting my 125cc yamaha XT x on the road.

Shes road worthy just not sure what i should do first between tax insurance and mot.

This,

you need the MOT certificate, insurance and V5 in order to tax it.

You'll need to book the bike in for it's MOT as it's only legal to ride it without a current MOT to get to or from a pre-booked MOT, once done, you can tax it.

and obviously, to ride it on the road, you need to be insured.

I'm in the same situation right now, got the bike running properly today, went over it and made sure everything works, booked MOT for tomorrow. So plan is to ride it there, and when it passes ride it to post office to buy tax. Will need V5 (or new owners slip), proof of insurance & MOT certificate. Right pain in the backside that you have to prove all that to give the government tax money Rolling Eyes

i have my bike in good nick now with new.

clutch plates
brake pads
tyres
battery
bulbs
chain and sprocket

Does anyone know if the bike needs chain guard to pass mot mine has done a runner

and also im lost as to where i put the tax disc.

Some MOT testers will fail you if you have pillion pegs and no chain guard. Mine did when the one on my ZZR fell to bits...had to buy a new one Rolling Eyes
