I bought some Furygan Veloce leather trousers late last year. They came with D30 armour but I bought some Knox inserts to replace them. The first set of Knox inserts were too big so I sent them back and got another set which were slightly smaller, but now they're too small and don't cover the full knee. I'm thinking of using the smaller inserts that are too small, and then cutting up some other inserts to fit to make them into the perfect size. So basically there would be two parts making up the knee armour. Are there any safety implications in doing this? For example pinching the skin in a slide.
Below is a paint diagram of what I'm talking about. The red circle is where the current knee armour is, and the blue circle is where the modified extra knee armour would go.

Sorry, no real idea about the armour. But gaffa tape sorts everything.

That shot is beautifully framed, obeying the classic "rule of thirds". Then there's the shaft of sunlight glinting off the knee, the setting of the winter field, and the boot delicately nestled in the gravel foreground. To say nothing of the implied pose of the subject, and the circles, delicately applied post-shot, bringing balance to the rest of the composition.

You already mentioned about potential pinching of the skin.
Maybe the chance of one pad sliding past the other, providing even less protection, and potentially even causing an additional injury.
(There's a reason why large companys spend lots of £££'s on R&D)
