The gloves have served me well the last year

The thermal baselayer top is good too, might get the matching leggings and socks Thumbs Up

I don't see the textile jacket and trousers up for sale this time... they were crap and started falling apart after 3 or 4 months of all weather use; sweaty in summer... too cold to even think about using in winter...

Pretty meh this year. You can get merino wool undies for just a bit more than that if you shop smart. Boots are suitable only for Harley Bear.

The flippy lid might be OK. The 2011 one was a re-branding of a 3* SHARP rated lid, I dunno about last year or this one though.

The base layers are really rather stretchy, I have all sizes from small to large and they all fit in their own way Smile some of the arms are a bit longer on the larger sizes, but then I'm only 5ft4.
Hubby wears the larger sizes and they all fit fine too.

Aldi do sometimes have bike stuff in, and the base layers are similar in quality and price. They also have the base layers in as ski/winter stuff too.

I'd better get there early this time. The last time they sold the base layers my local lidl sold out of the bottoms really quickly. Surprised Sad

Nice one Dave, I was wondering when this stuff would come round again.

Last year I bought the base layers and a set of gloves for a spare for pillions. The gloves are ok, but kind of uncomfortable. I wouldn't want to be riding in them, probably not that strong either.

The base layers are excellent. Keep you warm in winter and cool in the summer, plus they're very good value at that money. Socks were also pretty good, but I've not worn them much to be honest, so can't comment on their longevity during daily use.

All the other kit looked shite when I was there. It's not worth wasting money buying things like boots, jackets and lids on the cheap imo.

Aldi usually have their stuff the week after. That's where I got my merino undies last year.

Bear in mind that they tend to put things out the night before the advertised date, if you want a rummage before all the human sized gear is sold.

i got the helmet 2 years ago, it's a decent helmet but it's very loud at 40+mph and it's really heavy compared to a £50 hjc from lidsdirect

I bought the helmet last year and its extremely noisy at anything over 30mph. It also made strange creaking noises so I took it back for a refund Laughing The bike cover I got at the same time has held up extremely well though and the gloves look good.

Me old Dad picked me up a pair of the boots last year and I have used them almost everyday as the bike is my only form of transport.

Started letting in water where it joins to the soles after about 6 months, leather has held up fine though in reality there is no real extra protection like on a proper motorcycle boot but for £25 they have served me well enough.

Oh soles melt pretty fast if you for some reason end up using the exhaust as a foot peg.

Looks a bit shit this year.

Aldi had some tempting boots last year, but they were not particulally cheap so I didnt bother. Get most of my gear from ebay now.

True dat. To be honest, it's more of a novelty browse just because it's bike gear in a general purpose shop.
