If it's an 11 and only the glass broken they are £35 for a new mirror.

If the unit is ok but just glass broken then stick it on ebay and some monkey will pay £25-£30 for the old one.

I've been there but not with new tyres, jut the cold and damp.

Pulled out of junction too lively, back steps right out, I straighten up and glance back in a "must have been diesel or something" kind of manner. Embarassed

Having just fitted the CBR with new Pilot 2CTs, I promptly span it off the garage forecourt straight into a traffic light.

Cracked front fairing, bent mirror, scuffed timmeh, the usual bollocks.

pride, well and truly dented.

Got my PR3's fitted today and not so much as a wobble. LOVE them.

Grippier in the 1st mile that in the last 3000 on my other tyres. (Bridgstone 021 rear and ContiMotion front)

Do tyre fitting places have CCTV pointed out the front in order to make a bit of money from you've been framed?

New tyres aren't slippery, there was a post not so long ago about this, within a few miles of having a new rear put on, early Jan and was doing summery type speeds without falling off, 30 miles later I was knee down on a roundabout.

That GSXR video, wang the throttle open on a litre bike whilst lent over on a shit surface, there is a chance you're going to drop it.

Two examples on here of people who've binned their machines right outside the tyre fitters, warnings issued by every fitter I've ever known about slippery tyres and, personally, I do find new tyres slippery as do many others on here, despite manufacturers reassurances that they're not.
Maybe it's got nothing to do with the rubber but the fact that we're running on brand new tread with lots of airy spaces. Rolling Eyes

Is this a mk2 Pan?

My '95 Pan has been slid down the road and the crash bar cover (winglet) was the only item that got damaged.

Usually screw up so that a cone on the end of the thread opens up and grips inside of tube. They are usually a PITA to retighten because the cone rusts to the thread.

That doesnt give you much chance to warm them up. bed them in ,or smudge the newness off ...I always weave mine about a fair bit to get the whole of the tyre warmed up and scrubbed off, but when the thing goes down right by the tyre fitters thats really a tough break . glad it wasnt too badly damaged.

It needs to be pointed out so that nobody follows this advice and crashes. Brand new tyres are slippery. Some brands may be more slippery than others brand new, but they are definately slippery.

Tyres that have done "a few miles" are not new tyres. I have ridden hard on tyres after intentionally scrubbing them in for 4 or 5 miles. They are not new tyres at that point.

Please don't spout shite that'll end up with someone coming off their bike.
