The nsr is a ba20d bulb. Be carefull, any more than 35W and I believe you will have electric problems . 25W is standard.

www.beedspeed.com certainly sell clear 35w bulbs for the NSR and did sell blue tint as I had some from them a few years back.

Even at 35W you will see more if someone walks in front with a candle.

I'm quite near-ish - I live in edgware - pretty close to Harrow - and seem to go through there on my way to meets etc.

45watt works in the NSR. I tried and tested it.

just a quick question about lights, you know houselights you can get those haligon bulbs that take a little longer to light up, but are lik a quarter of the wattage but a hell of alot brighter, would it be possible to fuse one of those types of lights into a bike headlight at all?

Yes. They are increasingly common.

Neon,

Sorry, as far as I can tell Philips don't do a blue vision bulb for the NSR. I hunted around for "ba20d" but can't find it anywhere in the Philips automotive or "two-wheel" ranges (I might know someone who works for Philips Rolling Eyes )

FYI, the Blue Vision range details are as follows :

H1 BlueVision 12V 55W P14,5s
H3 BlueVision 12V 55W PK22s
H4 BlueVision 12V 60/55W P43t-38
H7 BlueVision 12V 55W PX26d
HB3 9005 BlueVision 12V 60W P20d
HB4 9006 BlueVision 12V 51W P22d
H6W BlueVision 12V 6W BAX9s
T4W BlueVision 12V 4W BA9s

Remember, if your lights appear blue to other people, they will call you a wanker... Wink

As ProXimaCore said 45W will work but it will eventually overload the wiring. This is a definate regardless of what others tell you. If in doubt check with your local Honda dealer or with you local mechanic.
The max cable rating for the NSR on lighting circuit is 28w. 35W is pushing it and 45W is a definate no no especially if you do long rides.

I speak here from my own experience and of others who have reported the same problem.
The wiring going into the bulbs overheats and starts to melt. The lighting circuit wiring becomes brittle with heat and snaps.
the two bulbs I had cost me £8.00 and the bill to repair the wiring was £180

It isn't only the headlight wiring. I fried the wires to the ignition switch on my FZ750 by running a larger headlight bulb (which appeared to work fine for well over a year).

All the best

Keith
