Finally taken the CBR out of hibernation.

Gave it a run to work, that exhaust is loud Laughing

Got to work and thought that I could smell oil. Took lid off and yeah, it does smell like burning oil.

Checked sight glass after it had sat for 2 hours and it is still full, not dropped at all. Any ideas where I should be looking. It isn't down on power, there is no wet patches on the engine/exhaust... so I'm at a loss really.

Did you top up the oil, is there an oil leak onto the exhaust?

That will stink like fcuk for ever or ages (whichever comes first).

Wash the Mofo and re-check. Wink

you didn't cover it in wd40 or something? And the oil was burning off from the exhaust? I'll just be tempted to give it a long blast and see if it goes away but keep an eye on oil level.

An oil change would help if not already done so.

It's been Paddy'd. A minor smell of burning oil is what I'd class as getting off pretty lightly, to be honest Laughing

Are you posting on the w.w.w via a bastart 'Smartphone'?

Are you aware it is making you look like a thick cnut?

Very Happy

Wash the engine and bike then re-check and report back (But FFS use a fecking PC man).

Isn't that the tank breather? Does the Crank Breather not vent into the Air Box?

I would be pulling the spark plugs out and also checking to see what the coolant looks like.

Are you sure its definitely oil? Sounds really really stupid but I got the same thing when I changed my zzr exhausts , I debaffled them too. And it got a strange smell when I rode it. At least for a while..

Was just extra emissions and stuff with mine I guess.

Taken it for a 50 mile gentle bimble...

Seems ok, must have just been the storage that made it a little smelly Sad
