Had a test ride on a new CBR 600F the other day, found it a nice bike to ride handled well on A and B roads up to about 70- 75. Laughing Laughing
But when I took it on motorway at 80 to 90 buffeting was terrible even flat down on the tank. Rolling Eyes
The salesman reckoned all would be sorted by purchasing a honda double bubble.

Just wondering if any of you have had experience of new CBR and double bubble? Whether it would sort my problem or should I forget about the 600F?

I am 6' 3" tall and ehem well built!

Cheers

All my experiments with difference screens points to one conclusion.

Smaller is better.

I'm 6'5 and all screens do is flick up turbulent air into my lid.

Riding with no screen was the best.

The buffeting is all part of the fun.

My CBR600F is an older (98) one but I find the wind blast much better with a double bubble over the stock.

double bubble make a huge difference and improve the wind flow over me as im 5"4" and just tuck in at high speeds.

I have a Fabbri screen as i think that these look the best.

On my 2001 CBR6f, a double bubble pushes air onto my chest whereas normal screen pushes it lower down.

I don't find either a problem though, just different.

I don't think a double bubble would cure your issues, the main one being that the new CBR600f is pretty much the same price as a street triple.

Thanks guys, given me some food for thought. Thumbs Up

I really liked the 600F especially on the back roads, but got to consider its use on the motorway when I commute.

I'll see if I can test ride one with a fitted double bubble.

Cheers

On the other hand, I'm 6'4 and my VFR with a standard screen tried to tear my head off above 90mph. Fitted a double bubble and it does the job perfectly.

But I think getting a decent airflow depends completely on the combination of the bike, you, the screen and even your helmet, and getting it right is pretty much potluck.

I have one of these on my 2012 CBR:

https://www.motorcycle-exhausts.co.uk/admin/images/Puig_Racing_Screen_Honda_CBR_600_F_2011_on_51821.jpeg

Absolutely fantastic compared to stock even when sitting up. I however am only 5'11 so a couple inches shorter than you. Hated the stock screen it seemed to do nothing to stop the wind blast.

Think i got this on a "BIN or best offer" on eBay for £60.

Thanks Carlos, looks like just the ticket, did you look at the Honda optional screen which is about £100??
