I would imagine with the bike just sitting there ticking over it would be get hotter than normal as there is no air flow cooling it down which you would get while riding |

What culpan said
How long till you're going to be able to ride it? If it's more than a few weeks it might be better to lay it up properly - how's your weather at this time of year?
It can do more harm than good to just warm it up and then shut it off for a week at a time. Depends on where it's stored (indoors, outisde under a tarp) as well. |

Does it go down when you ride?
What bike do you have?
My R1 runs that and more in the summer. Sometimes never goes lower |

Probably just needs a good thrashing, Have you got a friend with 3rd party cover on other bikes that could give a good ride?
Most bikes run a bit rough when starting in the winter, Lumpy idle after it's warmed up could mean the carbs are out of sync, Could be worth getting a full service done (if it hasnt had one recently) before you pass your test? ____________________ My bikes are at https://www.bikepics.com/members/dynamight/ |

Sorry, but it HAS to be said.........first time biker, on a yamaha YZF750R.......I hope you don't come into any trouble riding it, but having a bike THAT powerful as your first when you've never ridden before is a recipe for disaster..... !!!!!
I wish you well an all with the bike, but take it very easy or buy a learner bike to get to grips with a motorcycle. |
