Just thought I'd try my hand at asking some of you to take a look at the below link. It's me getting cctv'd in a yellow box junction. At first on seeing thier pics I thought no way was I actually stopped, but just found this link and yep, I appear to have been lazy and waiting for a car to move forward before entering the gap. I total 4 seconds of standing time. Anyone got any good advice before I hand over the £65 big ones?? Embarassed Crying or Very sad

Checks out the zoom/tracking style of the cameraman. Truely a wasted tallent? Smile

You deserve to be fined for posting a dead link.

looks likes there's a limit to the amount of times you can view it.... try this, as I've reentered my details....

In case it stops working again, attached the file.

Does seem really harsh - certainly not in the spirit of the legislation - and looked like they were hoping to get you again on the next one.

As said, ask on peppipoo. Looks like you'll e struggling based on that evidence.

Could just try the standard defence of claiming you hadn't received the fine, but you can't do that as you've logged on to view their evidence. Wink

O and the "random" zooming probably has something to do with checking alignment of the cctv camera or something.

Why didn't you slip into the gap between the two cars? As tragic as it is, looks like you will just have to take that one on the chin.

Yes. Your engine stalled and cut out for no apparent reason, it took a few clicks to get it running again hence you were stuck for a few seconds in that cash box unable to move.
Curious as to why you moved into the box junction and stopped though anyway when all you needed to do was slip between those cars!
Only in London aye! What a load of money grabbing bullshit...

I belive the highway code says "do not enter a yellow box unless your exit is clear."

Your exit *was* clear, but for whatever reason you did not immediatly filter. Id argue the taxi deserved the fine much more.

Id contest it.

Quote:
Rule 174 of The Highway code states the following:

"Box junctions. These have criss-cross yellow lines painted on the road (see 'Road markings'). You MUST NOT enter the box until your exit road or lane is clear. However, you may enter the box and wait when you want to turn right, and are only stopped from doing so by oncoming traffic, or by other vehicles waiting to turn right. At signalled roundabouts you MUST NOT enter the box unless you can cross over it completely without stopping."

"You should note that the Highway Code offers sensible advice about not entering the box junction if your exit is not clear but it is not mandatory and there is no penalty if you fail to follow this recommendation (but that failure could be used against you if there was an accident). The critical issue for the issuing of a ticket is if you entered the box junction and stopped in it due to the presence of stationary vehicles. That is the test."

Remeber, your exit was clear. Only your incompetence was stoping you Laughing. The relevant laws have significantly more words and I got bored.

I bet it was the highlight of his day, you could see the vigor at which he operated the camera in excitement, especially because it was a bike! Bet he got home and told his fat wife that he'd scored a great victory at work and then he climbed on and gave his two pumps of joy before rolling off the bitch. I just know it.

These people are despised by road users all across the board, in a similar way that traffic wardens are.
They are like traffic wardens, but they strike from the sky, anonymously.
Hating on them doesn't really reflect badly on bikers.
