That was bloody good fun.

The bike's de-restricted and now I think I actually know what a Powerband is.

I went on the bike for the first time tonight since it's been de-restricted and it was bloody excellent fun!!! The bike accelarates so much better now. You get to about 6,000 rpm's in 2nd gear and you just feel the power firing you along the road, then change to 3rd gear and the same happens when you hit about 7,000rpm's - it's fantastic - it's like having a brand new bike. It red-lines so much easier now too!!! I LOVE IT

I don't really know what the top speed is yet, 'cause the roads were quite wet tonight and I didnt' want to push my luck, plus there were still quite a lot of cars around and it was dark - but I was racing this Volvo along the road (he started it ) and the last time I looked at my speedo I was doing just over 70mph and I was only in 4th gear!!! And I whipped his ass by the way!!!

Can't wait until it's dry outside, it's going to be so much fun!!!!!!!

I remember when I first got my NSR out on a main road and I opened it up. I nearly shit myself (bearing in mind my total bike time at this point had been about 8 hours) when it just screamed as it took of. More fun than you can wave a shitty stick at! Awesome. THe mind boggles at the thought of an R1 or something of that nature! Must be like flying a fecking jet

You have the NS125R don't you? The kickstart one that used to be used for racing and is lighter than the NSR (IIRC).
I'd love to ride one again, and a KR-1S. I had mine when I was 18, aahh the memories. Takes me back to when I was a lad, although I'm not by any means old now (27).

Great isn't the word Fortuna, it's an awesome feeling - it feels like I have gone from riding my mountain bike to riding a motorbike it's that much of a difference.

Yup - that's mine, the kickstart!!! I used to hate the kickstart at the beginnin because I used to stall it a few times at the lights in the first few weeks, but I don't even notice it now!!

UPDATE

Got her up to 85mph this morning on the way to work, on a straight road, no hills , but then ran out of road, so don't know if that's the whack or what! I was just about lying on the tank mind you, so I don't think it will go much over 85mph tbh!! But I'm sure I'll be able to cope with that with the extra acceleration I've got!!!

I had it up to 85mph once, but that was going downhill and I never managed to get it up that far again.

70mph was it's max really!!! I could push it quicker!!!
