How do you deal with it?
Everything seems to be building up atm I feel like i'm gonna burst
Recorded high blood pressure for the third time now, seems I just plain have high blood pressure
My job going part time, the new Interserve useless cunts taking over, my bikes being off the road, getting my tests done, getting my passport, getting my insurance sorted, bills, house is a mess, everyone pisses me off and I have to get the fucking bus every day for a measly 4.5 hour shift, let alone seeing a married woman which is a bit of a headfuck.. Then there's this PC i'm building for someone as I need bonus cash, PSU didn't work, was a Dell so was a cunt and nothing fit in the case so I had to take a spare rig apart to put it in, had it apart and back together 3+ times Now i've gotta deal with returning the PSU which is a ballache.
I just feel like I want to scream, so I just might go outside and do that later
I want a week off work -_-"
But I can't because I accrue my hours each week so I don't have enough yet
I just feel like doing 100mph into a brick wall
but that's the pussys way out ____________________ Fzr-600 1999 |

Go for a ride...
Seriously, get yourself a positive distraction. Maybe take one-day out and do something different (and free). Walk, visit a mate you've not seen for a while etc. ? ____________________ 22PlusY

AKA MTFU.
Life gets a lot easier when you realise nothing really matters in the grand scheme of things.
I can't remember where I read it recently, but someone suggested that this picture should be hung in a psychologist's office, and when people came to them for a session would be asked how their issues compare to the little girl's :-

I seem to be one of the most chilled out people, I never really worry about stuff. My Misses is the complete opposite.
My outlook is it is either something you can change or something you can't, if you can't change it no point in worrying if you can change it, then change it. Generally I just go 'meh' if something is getting stressful. I'm sure I'll live longer than most with this attitude.
The only thing I remember really stressing about was when we thought my dad was ill. I had a panic attack, which was a horrible feeling. I didn't know what it was and looked it up. One of the symptoms was "A sense of impending doom" which is a fantastic way to put it. Try to imagine what that actually feels like it was horrible, really fightening. ____________________ Well, you know what they say. Cycle instead of getting the bus. You'll feel better.
Start dipping your wick in those who aren't morally off-limits.
Plan your finances in advance; I'm sure you can use a spreadsheet.
As for the PC, learn to work methodically. Do a bit of reading, and short pins 15/16, then use a multimeter to make sure that it's putting out the right voltages across all the rails.
What you're feeling at the moment isn't stress, it's minor frustration. Stress is realising that there's no escape from your situation. You're still very young, pretty naive, and in the enviable position of being able to make big changes to your life with minimal consequence. Make use of that fact. You needn't be locked into your current job, nor do you have any family commitments. A rented house is not the same ball-and-chain affair that a mortgage is. Get up, do something new, if you don't like what's happening at the moment. ____________________ '10 SV650SF, '83 GS650GT (it lives!), Questionable DIY dash project, 3D Printer project, Lasercutter project |

Some pretty good advice here, although I don't particularly like it when people use the "Yeah well kids are starving in Africa and people have it much worse than you so shut the fuck up" - yes it's true, people are worse off, but an individual only ever has their own life to compare. It's all relative.
I'm kinda like chris-red, Mr Yaigi says my catchphrase is "It'll be fine", but do you know what, it always is fine, so of the times Mr Yaigi has worried and I have not, he can not name ONE time when it actually didn't turn out in the end - and it wasn't cos he "worried it right". Worry is like paying interest on a loan you haven't taken out yet. I have (very rare) moments of anxiety but usually when I've not managed things particularly well, which brings me onto my next point:
If the thing that's stressing you out is the fact you have a lot to think about or a lot of tasks to do then I find it helps massively if I make a list braking what you need to do down into small chunks. So for example if I have a massive freelance job on I won't put "Monday - do that job for that festival", I'll put "Monday - put together some initial draft ideas for festival job" "Tuesday - check ideas and send to customer for comment" etc. Ticking those things off means I can see progression and for me it helps hugely. If I'm not ticking things off a list I'll either do nothing or try to get too much done at a time.
Getting your passport is an easy one to tick off the list.
What needs doing to get your bikes bike on the road? Make a list
When can you feasibly have enough money to book your tests? As said above - work out your budget.
When can you put some time aside to sort out insurance? Pick a time and stick to it.
When can you tidy the house? Pick a time, stick to it.
Sack the married woman off for your own sake and hers.
Returning a PSU - come on now, if you weren't in a mood, this wouldn't really be a problem would it?
Of the time you do have off work - make the most of it. Get out, do some exercise, go on a little photography expedition. If you make something of your spare time life becomes a whole lot more satisfying.
And as for the list making, if nothing else it's just good to get everything out of your head and down on paper, it frees the mind up for the serious thinking. I think so anyway.

1) List all your problems down.
2) Put them in a list of most stressful at the top and least stressful/priority at the bottom.
3) Start dealing with the problems and cross them off the list as you go.
This will then stop it from going around in your head as you can rest peacefully knowing they are all logged ready for your perusal at any time.
What you will find is that the items at the bottom of the list will either sort themselves out or become insignificant.
The items at the top of the list will be dealt with and you will live happily ever after, unless you get hit by a bus that is

THIS
Write it all down in a list, then make an "action" list with the next step in solving each problem. Do the action list tomorrow day, then tomorrow night re-do your action list, and so on until your ontop of it all again. ____________________ Suzuki GSX600F Katana (1997) |
