My friend asked me to post this question "I have a Yamaha DT125X /SM, When I turn my choke on before starting the bike, the bike starts fine, however I cannot leave the bike with just the choke on to keep it revving, I have to manually rev the bike otherwise the revs drop off and the bike stalls, the choke only has an on or off setting, and it's fully pushed up, the bike rides fine after that, what can i do to make the choke keep the rev's and prevent the bike from stalling without me revving it myself?" get it nice and warm and trim up your tickover screw and dont think running it really rich will make it any better.
+1 and just to add it being a 2 stroke they are very sensitive to warming,

you should start the bike with choke let run for 1 minute with very light and smooth throttle and then ride with very light and smooth throttle staying under 6/7000rpm until your temp has built up and then you can rev more and more and you should do that religiously
