Right, I had never bought from them before but I wanted a rear hugger for the GSXR I just bought. I decided on the ART one and since their website order form doesn't list it ( Exclamation ) I ordered it from Busters online.

Now the problems began...
Arrow It took three weeks to arrive after I was told 7 days.
Arrow It arrived in the packaging shown in the picture below. Except there was two to three times more of the shredded paper taped to the OUTSIDE of the box!
Arrow They sent me the 96-99 model instead of the 00-03 model.

The rest I could have lived with, but it was the fact I had waited three weeks and I still didn't have what I ordered that pissed me off.

I phoned them up and explained the above. The lady I spoke to worked at the usual level of customer services rep until she saw the picture of the box. At this point she said she was taking it to the warehouse manager and the MD. I wasn't really that bothered, I just wanted the bloody hugger!

Anyway, she phoned me back half a dozen times and was extremely helpful. I didn't want to wait another three weeks for the ART hugger so decided to change for the Powerbronze one, which she dispatched for the next day (with a £10 gift voucher). Anyway, the thing that surprised me the most was when she called me for the last time to tell me that the person in the warehouse had been given a written warning Shocked Exclamation

Yep (but with a shit load more of that paper). The courier had a really puzzled look on his face when he dropped it off!

At least they've got a good complaints policy! I know companies who would have tryed EVERYTHING to shift the blame onto someone else.

I like the writing though Very Happy

bahahahaahahahaha......sorry to laugh at your misfortune, but it made me chuckle. Smile Kind of puts me off buying from them now though.

If its specific bike parts, then I'd use dex direct.....although, thats more mechanically type stuff rather than add ons. Smile

So what course of action are you taking now? A nasty letter/email? A not so happy phone call?

Glad your story ended okay - I'll still dealing with them Crying or Very sad

Tried to ordered a new screen via their website. Order went through okay then heard nothing.
'Phoned and told I'd been sent an email stating it wasn't in stock.
I checked and indeed an email had been binned by my spam filter - apparently email bounced through some dodgy places .
Guy on the phone then checked stock and I was told that was wrong - there should be one in stock.
However, price on web site was wrong and I'd have to pay £15 more. Said okay and I thought order went through okay then heard nothing.

'Phoned to check again and woman then told me when they checked there wasn't one on the shelf - no one bothered to tell me this Evil or Very Mad

So I'm still waiting after been given lots of misleading information and having to pay more than the website advertised price.
If I ever get what I want I'll think twice before putting in another order.

- MAP not a happy bunny

Well, I've got a hugger now and they refunded the difference (apparently... hmmm... must check!) I'm not one to complain unless I'm really pissed off and I generally lose interest in pursuing things as I'm pretty laid back. They sent me the £10 voucher by way of compensation... what the hell can I get for a tenner? A keyring? Rolling Eyes

I called Busters Monday to order a new battery for my R6, the bloke on the phone wound me up to the point where I nearly put the f**king phone down. He kept asking me what bike it was then he kept saying

"R1 yeah?"

I'm like no I said R6 I want a battery for a 2001 R6

"You sure it's 2001? or is it just registered in 2001 but really a 2000"

"it's a 2001"

"You sure?"

"Yes"

"There are 2 types of battery 1 for 99-2000 and 1 for 2001-2002"

"Yes and what part of 2001 don't you understand?"

"yeah but it could be registered in 2000, have you checked"

"no"

"why not?"

"because its a 2001 bike"

"are you 100% sure"

" *sigh* yes they changed the paint and undertail in 2001 and I have that new paint and undertail therefore i need a 2001 battery"

"ok, r1 yeah?"

"no, R6!"

"ok that's £35 please"

That's no joke at all, the conversation was exactly like that but a bit longer as he kept repeating some stuff Rolling Eyes

It still hasn't turned up yet either.. would have expected it by now!

Oh I had great service from them... Very Happy Wink

I phoned up about an ART can. I ordered one. It didn't turn up for 3 weeks (they said it would be here by 2). I phoned them up, and they said they had stopped dealing with ART becuase ART were screwing them around and my order would not have been valid.

Ok, so I cancelled the order and got my money back.

1 week later I got a nice big parcel though the post. Hmmm whats this? Hmmmm brand spanking new Carbon Fiber race can for £0, and 0 pence Very Happy from Busters. Cheers Mr. Green Thumbs Up

Oh, and btw - I've used Busters in the past and never had any probs. Although 1 of my items was out of stock, so they hung back dispatching the rest so that they could send it as one parcel. Makes good business sense really.

I could've had the in stock items dispatched separately, but the guy said I'd need to pay more postage, so said I should wait, only a couple more days. He could've sent them out and made me pay the postage, so was nice of them to save me money really!

Ive brought a couple of things from busters and they have all arrived fine, there technical help was good and products arrive very quickly.

What you got to remember is these complaints might just be unlucky, think at all the packages they dispatch every day.

I still think there good and much cheaper then normal bike shops.

I've ordered from Busters before with no problems, one of the things I ordered was out of stock so they sent the rest and the other item when it came into stock. £10 gift voucher seems slightly crap considering what they'd done, but look on the bright side, at least they havn't threatened to sue you like gear4bikes.com did when I posted on here about their crap customer service. A few weeks ago I ordered a bike cover and C-spanner from Busters with no problems. I was quite impressed as I had ordered a non-adjustable double-ended C-spanner (retail about 5-6 quid), and they sent me the adjustable one that was listed as 17 quid. Quite good as I was charged for the cheaper one Smile

Busters are cheap.

One of the reasons for this is probably that share holders etc get a bit less money.

I usually execpt another reason for cheap mail orders places to be cheap is that they skimp on customer service; it's a price I'm willing to pay to have a few more drinks down the pub on Saturday night Smile.

Personally, I've generally found busters to be at least as good as a lot of the more expensive places.

Yams:
To be fair, while it does seem a bit over the top, presumably they have had people that have ordered the wrong one; I'd prefer for them to make sure that I'm getting the bit I want than just make the call quick Smile.

I don't mind if he asked once, but he asked about 4 times and tried to explain about how bikes could be registered a year after manufacture blah blah.

I told him quite clearly that I have a 2001 model R6 and I want a battery to fit that bike. It's not really a hard thing to remember yet he still kept on about registration and crap then completely forgot what bike it was in the first place Laughing
