I think you're the only one there my dear....

At least you can put your left hand around the frame and get it nice and toasty that way....

But when I clutch things, I use my right. Whistle

It's my right that gets colder, cos it's the one you can't move so much.

Yeah if you do motorway miles, for example, your left one would probably get colder.

Similarly. As said before, my throttle hand gets plenty of scope for movement with the range of my fifth gear being 40-60. This is in contrast to the clutch hand which occasionally gets used at roundabouts and very heavy traffic/ in town. Dual carriageways always make my left hand colder.

It's my throttle hand that gets cold. You can just stick your other hand in the fairing where it's warm from the engine. I spend most long journeys like that.

because you keep your fingers over the clutch lever which is metal and metal gets cold or because you are not gripping clutch hand as tight due to changing gear

That's only in town where that's really an issue more though? Mostly the clutch hand is just wrapped around the clutch bar not doing anything. The throttle hand is doing all the work in twisting.

I find that as well, probably because I almost always cover the clutch (too long riding a 2 stroke that I expected to lunch itself at any given opportunity).

I really, really need some winter gloves though. I've already started to get painful fingertips after a 20~30 ride. Not a good sign.

I need new gloves too mine have small tears in either hand, which makes me think they were maybe a little too small for me to start with.

I have just subscribed to TWO magazine and they are giving away a nice pair of winter gloves!! Mr. Green

I think this clutch hand has something to do with how your hand is, with your throttle hand most the time its wrapped around your throttle all close together, like they say if you out in the cold snuggle up! same kind if principle.

With your clutch hand your hand is spread out allowing the cold to get to all parts, i used to find i had this problem when i used to do trials biking, i would always have my index finger over the break and it used to be freezing where as the rest of my hand was all nice and warm. This is my theory any ways

Well, as both my hands were painfully cold from being plastered in snow from tonight's commute home, then I can't really comment.

Usually my right hand that gets cold, but that is probably because I stick my left hand under my leg when it is feeling cold.

Because your left is gripping the bar properly occasionally extending your fingers. Your right hand turns back and forth so when your at speed your hand is partially shelterd behind the grip.

Even if your right hand were as cold as your left you wouldnt feel it so much as you dont have to stretch out your fingers as much.

I allways end up riding with my left forarm resting on the tank in traffic anyway. Looks funny like a superbiker thats half asleep! Laughing
