Finally got round to getting some pictures of my new bike - it's my first big bike and I'm thoroughly enjoying it so far.

It's a 1999 model and had 12,000 miles (yes 12,000 not 120,000!) when I got it about a month ago now.

Anyway, heres some pictures of it.

Edit: Also, had something odd happen on it today when I was out. Was sitting it traffic and noticed that the oil temperature gauge was showing higher than usual (usually after a few miles of riding it would be at the top of the "Cold" square, but today it was a bit higher. Anyway the traffic started moving and the gauge immediately starting getting noticeably higher literally within a few seconds (I was thinking "have I ran out of coolant?". Anyway after a few more seconds of riding it started going back down and within a minute or so was back down the the "cold" square where it normally is and the problem hasn't come back. I've just put it down to a bit of a glitch with the clocks as I've just checked the coolant and it seems ok. Anyone else had this before?

Avatar changed - good grief that was a hassle!

Yep it's got to be one of the best examples I've seen - Who'd have thought it's older than my girlfriend?!*

You were sat in traffic, with an engine going and no air to cool the coolant in the radiator or the oil cooler, it got hot, simple as. Remember that these gauges are either cold, bit hot or somewhere in-between.

really nice bike BUT
I would be really tempted to put some crash bars on it before anything happens to spoil it They are often used as school bikes and bars are readily available and save all the improtant bits from knocks and bumps

Yea definitely. My bike somehow managed to fly through its MOT the other day, even with that oil leak, so just need to wait for some nice weather.

That does sound a good idea. I have already kind of dropped it but managed to keep it from actually hitting the ground which was lucky.
