Oh God..I couldn't sleep last night...my test was today... Neutral

As you who know me guessed...I was a bluddy WRECK...but I controlled my nerves..I WILL be fine Smile

I was leaving work today at 1 pm to practice (test at 2.30pm)...

I awoke...RAIN...
LOTS Neutral

Okay..fine..it will ease later...
set off...

..turning into the drive to work..my front tyre hits a slippy drain cover (out of where I don't know)...
GONE...

Bike ...skidded across the road (onto other side)...I...skidded the other way...
face (well helmet) slid across the tarmac Neutral

I got up...dazed...bike..scratched....headlamp chrome dinted,..lots of other scuffs...wing mirrors bent towards front in the middle...

A car stopped...nice chap... "ARE YOU OKAY!!??...OH GOD!!..ARE YOU ??..."
I picked bike up on 3rd attempt..

I told him I was fine..he looked shocked..I think I was running on adrenalin.

Anyways...I got into work..had a hot drink...called Fiance..he checked bike out,..all fine..just scuffs, dents, etc...
he was more concerned about me... the pain didn't start until later...
this was my TEST day !

I had smacked my left cheekbone against the inside of my helmet..it must have compacted somewhat...
and my left hand (little finger) was buggered..(SORE!!)
I think I have fractured it.

So...God hates me today...wonderful.

So..I left work (in the POURING rain and oncoming SNOW) to do my test....
I practiced u turns..emer stops...junctions...okay,..okay,...all I can do..
I was freezing...wet.. went to test centre...I felt PHYSICALLY sick Sad

So..test started...it lasted forever..
I passed,,,can you believe it ?? I can't !! Smile lol

5 minors...erm...
shaky on u-turn (nerves)..emer stop (nerves)...hesitation ?? (crap)...and I can't recall the others....

I am SO thankful I passed first time...
I could not do that again !!

So...in all...a bad/good day..
I am getting drunk...
BLAH....
STRESS...
beyond comprehension....

BUT

I AM A LEGAL NON L PLATER !!! Smile

All's well that ends well though huh? Very Happy

Just go grab a hot chocolate and curl up in a snug, cozy bed and be glad that you passed Smile

It sounds like you may have a bruised cheek by tomorrow, but that's nothing some make-up cant hide. Call it a battle scar Wink

Hi

Well done, now ritually burn the L plates (think it is an offence for you to ride with them on now!).

All the best

Congratulations!!

This makes up for the slide and possibly broken finger? Hope you recover soon and that the bike isn't too damaged!

Getting drunk is the answer, everything makes sense then in an odd kind of way.

Well done, reminds me a bit of the day I took my test.

There was a young girl doing her test and half an hour before her test she binned the bike on a corner. She still wanted to do her test, so a change of bike and one test later she passed with only a few minors. Very Happy

Well done again, whats it now for you? Fireblade? Wink

Congrats on your pass, you deserved it. If that had happened to me I would probably of been finished, nerves wise.

You may of broke your little finger before the first knuckle? depends where the swelling is I guess. All the hospital will do is probably strap it to the next finger to help immobilise it and stop it from rotating.
