Best way to clean barrel after rebore

Hi received my barrel this morning, and is covered in metal dust particles, what's the best way to clean this off?

Petrol and fine emery.

I usually take them down to the car wash in a laundry basket and do them with the pressure washer. Then dry with a lint-free cloth and immediately spray over with WD40 before it rusts.

I put alloy casings through the dishwasher but a cast iron liner will rust before it's finished the cycle.

Paraffin and then hot soapy water.

It's amazing how quick a barrel rusts when left out in the open and damp.

Bucket of hot soapy water (loads of fairy liquid) will do it then rinse off and immediately dab it dry then WD40. It will rust before your eyes - quite literally before the water has dried off - if you don't oil it.
