Well done, cracking bit of carpentry but with all that lovely work I'd have been tempted to see if I could have picked-up a s/h steel one via a private ad (there's usually a few doing nowt in the odd garage) or off fleabay. Got to admire your work and ingenuity though, much better than I could manage !. Thumbs Up

Good idea. Working in wood often preferred to metal. I find it easier.

Nice workshop too, have to find an excuse to get an anvil now Very Happy

Needs a built in paddock stand else it's only the front bit which is useful, else it's just a bike sat on a ramp?

Have you ever spilled oil or get 4/5 bar tread plate (not checker plate) wet? It's the least grippiest surface known to man, stuff should be banned, the only reason it gets used is because it doesn't rust away.

You can't paint it easily, when it goes even shinier it gets even slipperier, get some rubberised paint with grit in it, or paint it and chuck some sand in it.

Nowadays to be honest you have to be either pretty keen on DIY to make something like that. It's nicely done even if it's a bit small.

If you have wood and screws around it's fine, but if you have to buy the wood and fixings, and then factor in time, why would you bother when you can get this for a couple of hundred quid new, and for pennies 2nd hand.

It lifted my busa OK Shocked Laughing

If anyone's after a metal bike lift like the one shown bear in mind that a 'scissor lift' needs less room than the parallelogram one here, important if you've only got restricted space like me with an average sized garage. Both types do the job great.

This is the one shown, same suppliers who delivered in a couple of days. It's gone up a bit in the couple of years I've had mine though.
