Well, I've had my first taste of being taken from behind earlier.

And a pleasant experience it was not, the first time I've been in an accident that involved someone else and it had to happen today.

Went to a funeral service for my gran, and on the way to the burial site I got rear ended.

Had stopped at temporary traffic lights, one if those ambulance cars with their garishly bright colours directly in front of me, and dizzy bint slams in to the back of me.

Ended up missing the burial of my gran, really not a happy bunny at the moment.

Not much damage to the bike though, rear cluster lenses smashed, numberplate smashed up, mudguard smashed, and a front indicator and a few scuffs and scrapes.

Chapess was peasant enough, although I felt like giving her a slap.

Then I had to ride 40 miles home, with no numberplate, followed a few times by the police, but wasn't pulled once, which I found rather strange, considering.

If you could ride it home why did you not continue to the funeral after exchanging details?

I'd check the sub frame just to be sure, but it's likely just fine.

Shame about the funeral service, that's something that can't be bought back Sad

Got witnesses? Or did you maliciously reverse into her?

I come off the bike and hit the ambulance car in front, they insisted they called the police as apparenty it's protocol when they are involved in any kind of accident.

Even though they weren't involved really, just hit my protected noggin on their bumper.

A paramedic in the ambulance car, and 2 workmen fiddling with one if those green BT boxes directly opposite.

If he didn't... then that is serious lols, names, numbers and plates. Minimum.

Add witnesses and addresses to that if possible.

Did the police attend?

you said that the ambulance crew called them, surely if they attended they'll have the incident on record and so have the details you need.

If think this has to be up their with one of the greatest insults a cager can dish out.
Minimum checks for me would be pictures of scene, pictures of damage to 3rd party. Noted down driver name/insurance company who covering them/ licence plate.

There's no requirement to give a phone number. It's name and address.

Do you at least have her reg number and the witnesses' contact details?

If so, and if they're contactable, I'd go ahead and ream the bitch for every penny. Your insurer will put you in touch with a cash-for-crash merchant or you could find an independent solicitor to take it on. More fool her for not sorting it out herself.

Im guessing by the time the Rozzers had finished their doughnuts and attended the scene and done all the relevant paperwork, the funeral was over.

If the rozzers attended surely there must be an incident number andd they must have details of the bitch? They must have checked MOT, Insurance etc on each party involved? Thats what they did when I had my off anyway......

One thing i learnt from accidents is unless the damage is minor call the police and always take pics. I was hit in my car by a new woman driver as she pulled out of a side lane into the side of my car in a 30. Even though i almost mounted the kerb and the road was 5 lanes wide there she still hit me hard enough to buckle the suspension. Moved both cars off the road for her and her dad came to swop details. 11 months later the claim finally went through in my favour having written off my car and left me with no transport until my sis lent me cash a few months later. After that i always take pics and if the damage is more than a scuff call the police. They can't delay a claim with a police report. Glad to hear you're ok after it though. Could be worse.
