Why do they bother advertizing it? I told them I could get my car renewed for £127, and the bike for £55. After 20 minutes on the phone with the Qs & As they came back with £240 just for the car! I laughed out very loud. Laughing

Fecking idiots. Rolling Eyes

They wouldn't quote me. Probably the safer option but no, my car alone was £900 and bike was over that.

Needless to say... I went elsewhere Laughing

I made the point that the meercat doesn't enable one to mention ones bike as "another vehicle", which is bent. He agreed that part of the advantage of the 6-wheel policy is that's taken into account and should lower a premium. Then he comes back with a quote for the car that is twice the cheapest I got elsewhere. Feck knows what the quote for the bike would have been.

Are there actually people who go "Oh, yeah, your quote is substantially higher than what I did get off the meercat...but a six-wheel policy sounds teh s3xxor, I'll take it!"

I continue to be amazed at my continuing capacity to be amazed at the utter stupidity of commercial companies with their self-defeating BS advertizing and offers. Confused

Carol nash have been the cheapest quote for my courier bikes for the last 2 years but wouldn't cover the chinky monkey back at all, no way.

What does piss me off is when needing to call them a couple of days in a row, several times and repeatedly having to confirm that my email, phone and occupation hasn't changed since i called them 3 hours ago.

Stop fucking asking, bullshit excuses why they 'NEED' to do it but nobody else does.

Admiral multi car. Last year worked out marginally cheaper for my car and the wifes car. Renewal a few weeks ago quoted over £900 for the joint policy. wtf!
No new offences etc, +1 years NCD.
Two separate policies with another insurer cost me just over £500.
I hate insurance companies.

Oh that's a fucking joke. They have never come close to matching 2 separate policies for me and the missus, and that includes 2 separate policies form Admiral themselves Shocked .

But as Hetzer says, there are idiots out there who go with it just because the THINK it will be cheaper.

It changes day to day. I did actually find that Admiral multi-car was my cheapest option last year, but I'm pretty certain that means they'll try to have a laugh at renewal.

This is exactly what happened for my lot. One year, we had my car, and both my parents on a Multicar policy, but when it came to renewal, it was hella expensive compared to individual policies. When we rang Admiral up to haggle, they pretty much said 'just go for the individual policies then'. Laughing

Have they changed it before or since then? Because when I took it out last September or thereabouts it was done as two (cheap to begin with) policies, with a discount applied on one of them.

Shocking attack of common sense, I thought.

I find the insurance ads stating 10% off, or 10 months for the price of 12 etc etc quite amusing.

Nobody gives a shit how much it was before, they still pluck a random number out of their ass and it is still 3x more expensive than everywhere else.

Carol Nash are a bunch of shysters, not only do they take the piss with overpriced quotes. But then you get countless silent calls after... Because that is the way to win business isn't it...

Wouldn't use them in a million years after their harassment.

Insurance companies are just sharks.

My policy increased this year by £350 on the bike (same bike, location etc..., just the TPFT increased) and Carole Nash quoted me £2,500 TPFT for my car on a multi-wheel policy (excluding the bike)

My car is over 10 years old and I'm over 40... Shocked

I'm a bike-only guy for some reason...

Why is multicar so much more expensive than multi bike. I can understand it if you have a load of named drivers so all the vehicles can be in use at the same time, but when it's just 2 cars and you are the only driver, why?

My multi bike with the Explorer and Fazer was exactly the same price as just the explorer on it's own when I renewed with MCE. (and it was a 15 month policy for the price of 12 as well Shocked Thumbs Up )

Prices definitely change day to day. I phoned Esure last Monday to get a price to swap from my 172 Clio to the JCW Mini and was pleased to find it was only going to cost me £12 to cover until the end of my policy in November. As it turned out, when I actually wanted to make the swap on Saturday their systems were down so I took a week's free policy with Swinton to tide me over. Phoned Esure again today to get them to change the policy from this weekend instead and the change refunded me about £18.

I am a happy bunny.

Same, insuring the XJR and GS cost me pennies when I had the SP1 and ZX9 as well. CN have rarely been the cheapest for me (Although they were very cheap when I had the Futura for some reason) but they've not been too far off the mark with my quotes for the most part. I've used stuff like the inclusive Breakdown cover far too often to be desperate to jump ship just yet. We will see when I renew the Sprint ST I guess Thumbs Up
