I just swapped out my 87 cbr 600 engine with an identical motor. Now it seems the coils are out of sync with the new engine. I had to splice into the stator connector with plugs into the rectifier.All the wires are yellow, do they have a certain order, need help any tip is helpful since this is my first project! BTW im new here as well Very Happy

perhaps timing is out? or ignition pickup is not in correct position ? Thumbs Up

That ^^ or you have been a diddy and got the HT leads mixed up.

I didn't open the new engine, I purchased it completely assembled. All i did was put on my original carbs. The bike turns over but does not start. I checked for spark on the #1 plug, strong spark. The bike has only back-fired with a loud explosion and fire out the exhaust.

That can happen when the HT's are the wrong way round. Double check.
