What's a good regulator rectifier

Started my new job today (hoorah) but the bus took me 1 hour and 20 minutes to get home (for a three mile journey, go figure). Need a new regulator rectifier as I'm not going to do that every day when I just want to get home, queuing with the scumbags.

Is this a good regulator rectifier? MOSFET as opposed to SCR?

MOSFET is supposed to be better than Shunt-type. Better at handling it without producing too much heat.

Series type reg/recs are superior to both shunt and fet type reg/recs.
have a look at compufire. They are normally used on Harleys but worked fine on my triumph S4.

The S4 has a known issue with the stator overheating and eventually failing. This reg/rec keeps your stator at lower temperature as they disconnect themselves from it when there is low power draw, rather than dropping excess amps to ground (there was actually a guy that took IR photos of his bike on shunt, mosfet and series type reg/rec to show the temperature differences, cant find the link now).

On my sisters ZZR600 I replaced the busted SCR model with a Shindegen FH001. Last 8 months or so the bike has been fine, it runs cool and voltage is a little higher than it was with the oem one.

I ordered one from germany on ebay, had it recommended on the hornet forum, came with a new block connector too which was handy as it turned out the old one was crispy and black. Re-did the wiring to the connector and not had any charging issues since
